SOG Access Card....little bigger, but small and thin and carries well.

Much as it surprised me Sanrenmu makes some very nice small knives. In fact they seem to focus a lot on smaller knives but each one I've handled has been exceptional. Truthfully they are hard to beat for the money. Look em up on ebay. I think I paid like 11 bucks and some change for each when I bought three. Took about 15 days to get them but they were worth the wait.

You don't have to buy one of the copies of a known design to get a good one either.

Some of the USA companies are having their knives made in Taiwan or China and some of the smaller good ones I've got or have owned are the Mini AK47 from Cold Steel. A bit funky looking, aggressive G10 texturing but a good little knife nonetheless.

The Pesistence and Tenacious from Spyderco are good inexpensive China mades but the Persistence is probably more to your liking if you want smaller.

The best small knives if money is no object are the Strider PT and the Small Sebenza, not necessarily in that order.

I rarely go anywhere without a Spyderco Ladybug in my pocket. In my opinion, it's about as small as you can go and still be able to do just about anything, plus they are cheap!

My favorite really small knives are the Victorinox classic SAK and the Case peanut. One or the other is almost always in my pocket.

See if you can find a US made Bladetech Mouse. There were two models made in the US both with S30V. One has G-10 scales and the other has carbon fiber. Bladetech still has one that is made in Taiwan with FRN and aus8a.

4 15/16" open is a little bit bigger than what you asked for but way smaller than what many have suggested.

Kershaw Chive is also a great choice, but only comes with 420hc.

Also over 4" open.

smallest I have is buck deuce, cheap, and light, so light and small that for the past two weeks I can't find it.

Funny you mention Sanrenmu, I just ordered one of their models called the Navy K-615 as a car/beater/loaner knife. Then Presz mentioned Blade Tech and I decided to check their site again and it looks like the K-615 is a knock-off of the Blade-Tech Pro Hunter Classic at 1/5th the price. I thought the shape looked familiar but just realized why now. I've also been considering getting one of the Sanrenmu Sebenza knock-offs, again, not to cheap out on getting an original, but as a beater, loaner, etc. I've learned the hard way to not lend people my good knives. I'd love to one day get a Classic Sebbie but at this point, can't justify the $400+ price tag, and I won't buy 2nd hand.

Wow! Thanks for all the input! You guys are a really active forum! Thanks! Any more suggestions? I will be researching every knife you said! :)

Opinel #3 is nice, in expensive, mini folder with carbon steel blade or stainless if you wish. It travels really nice...

Depends what you want to do with it. I already said SAK Classic but the Buck Cadet is a really nice choice too. I've got one of those a used to do tons of whittling with it. It's small but mighty.

Just got this in yesterday. It's a JK Knives Tin Knife (made to fit in an Altoids tin without the Kydex sheath). 3 3/4" OAL, 1 1/2" edge, 3/32" thick O1 steel. With the sheath, it makes a great little pocket fixed blade.

S&W knives are not really looked upon highly here.
I just did a search of the forums for "Wesson"; I see what you mean.

Maybe mine was made by the only guy in the factory with a good work ethic, and the Little Pal may be the only S&W that doesn't have a name like "Stealth Tactical Ultrapenis," but the one I've got has held a nice edge--better than my long-lost Ka-bar Dozier Hunter. ::shrug::
