Small Lockbacks

Great bunch of photos guys. I don't have a photo to post now but Buck's 503 is a nice little lockback.

Schrade, thanks to Vince's 4th of July giveaway :)

I thought I had a pic of my Zippo Cutabout lockback too but can't find it...nice little gent's knife from before Zippo's purchase of Case.

Case Rogers Bone Damascus Steel Lockback knife. The knife is 3 3/4" closed with a 2 3/4" long Case 512 layer Damascus Steel blade. This particular pattern was a new pattern introduced by Case in 1989 and sold by them in 1989 and 1990.

That Russell Barlow locker is a sleek looking and compact individual. Do you know if they are still available?
Thanks, Will

They are! As a Barlow should be, they are completely affordable. I don't know what AG Russell had done to the steel on this knife, but it doesn't act or feel like stainless when you sharpen. It acts much differently (better!) than other knives that I have with this steel.

Mine is very well made and locks up with not one bit of movement. I am a sucker for Barlows, and this one has one distinct difference for me that my other Barlows don't have - the blade is hollow ground. That makes this knife one wicked slicer. My other Barlows all have a more blunt, obtuse heavy working edge, so that made the design on this one a real welcome change.

Moki made Fallkniven TK3.[/QUOTE]

I knew that Moki manufactured for several other companies, in addition to making their own. And I had wondered if Fallkniven was of them. Thanks for answering that question.

excellent knives guys, i see a lot of bucks here lately! Here's a few pics for size comparison between buck 110, and two 503's (i just posted these in another thread, but i believe they are relevant here as per OPs original post:

Connor, thanks for the kind words. The green and brass really grew on me. That particular one had its tip reprofiled. Have another in reserve. ;).

Some of these may be pushing the traditional boundaries a bit, but-
Camillus double, Buck 505, Utica commemorative, Kutmaster liner-lock, Gerber, Case. Sorry about the photo, but we're not having much sunlight lately.

No worries, how are you finding your new Moki?

It's everything I hoped it would be. And then some.
I'll try to take some pictures this afternoon.

I have a couple of other small lockbacks and I'll see if I can't come up with a group shot, as well.

Nice Schrade LB zippofan, it is just like the one my wife carries!

Here's a Zippo (I believe it's a Cutabout) gifted to me, back in the mid-80s when I was in the Navy. It was given to me by my best buddy (we joined up together), and the ship engraving was from his current duty station at the time:

Not quite as traditional but it is a great knife - A.G. Russell 3.0 Titanium Lockback.

I carry this as a second knife everyday to handle the jobs where a larger blade is not needed or may not be appropriate. The VG10 steel keeps a great edge, which will be confirmed by any of the hundreds of envelopes I've opened with it.

That Camillus (^^) looks a lot like the Zippos. I've noticed that before, and have wondered if Zippo contracted Camillus to make the Zippo knives. Wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Three small ones:
Top is an old Buck 501 in the original 440C. That one was a foundling. I believe "ridden hard and put away wet" about covers its current state. I still like it, though.

Second is a Gerber from the mid '90's. Got it from my company as an anniversary gift.

Third is a much carried Japanese-made Lockback sold under the Klein Tools name.

Then there is my newest toy, a Moki Kronos, as close to perfection as production knives come:

When Moki says, "mirror polished", they are serious about it.
