Small Lockbacks

Glad you like your Moki too Frank, the blade is a work of art.

I can see why you'd carry that Klein lockback a lot too. Nice original design.

Knarfeng,

Any ideas who makes that lockback for Klein? I know at least one of their designs is from Moki.

No idea. I've had that lockback for at least 20 years. It locks up like a vault and the fit and finish are excellent. Nice blade shape, too.

Case Caliber,traditional

I am just waiting for the U2 Fallkniven to be considered traditional...
An amazing knife

Thanks for all the pictures, guys :) knarfeng, that Klein Tools knife looks like one my Dad carries - I'd actually completely forgotten about it until I saw that picture. Apparently he's had it for 20 years. Good stuff.

Just posted this in the "What are you carrying" thread, but it's appropriate here, too. So...
Here's another recommendation for Moki's knives. They make a really nice little lockback.

Here's a little Buck that's had some custom work done to it.

Connor, thanks for the kind words. The green and brass really grew on me. That particular one had its tip reprofiled. Have another in reserve. ;).

I thought it looked a bit different. Having a carbon blade AND brass bolsters to develop a patina on means double the fun!

Officially on my Christmas list,
Connor

Third is a much carried Japanese-made Lockback sold under the Klein Tools name.

I have a Klien 44036 that gets more than its share of pocket time these days. Rotation is now equal between it and Case Mini Copperlock that had occupied my pocket for most of 2012.

The fit and finish on this one has always impressed me. It has a lot of miles on it so it isn't exactly pretty any more. Closed length is 3.5". Edge is just shy of 2.5".

Forgive the crappy pics.they're the only photos I have of the Klien.

Thanks, it's a great little knife and it's in my pocket as I type this :) The covers are elephant ivory and were done by Kaleb Reynolds along with the rest of the custom work (at least that's what I was told by the original owner). I believe he's on Bladeforums as muskrat man but I'm not 100% sure. Here's a pic of the filework done on the spring.

The Gerber Silver Knight, and small traditional Buck lockbacks are great knives. I hope that I still have the opportunity to order one of the small Buck lockbacks with buffalo horn scales and higher grade steel.

Moki makes good knives. Here's the Spire, a model they made for William Henry.

The Buck 505 Knight at 2 3/4" closed is a handy knife.

As is the Buck 055 at 3 3/8" closed.

Bummer, looks like he hasn't posted since 2007... and then got banned in 2009...
