Small Pen Knife for EDC?

I agree 100% and have no concerns or problems with the 303 at all personally. I neglected to post earlier but at work there is a 2.5" blade limit that has always been but they are now actually starting to enforce the policy, Too many guys flicking too many tacticals has brought it about. The main blade on a 303 is 2.5" so technically it's OK but I just want to be be clearly under the limit to avoid any hassles. Thanks for the input.

Two comments based on my experiences in the workplace.

First. I've found that the more "old fashion" the knife is, the less people react to it, my Opinel #8 and my old BSA Scout knives have never generated any negative comments while I've witnessed friends with tactical knives getting hassled. The Opinel 8 is no small knife. But its very non threatening.

Second, I have Xl hands too and I prefer a thicker handle than any pen knife. There is a non locking Opinel 5 with a blade just under 2.5". A scout/BSA style knife is just at 2.5" measured to the tang; just a tick over to the bolster.

My size ML hands can't get a good grip on a peanut. Knives at least as long as 3-1/4" (closed) are okay. The Case Crandall Jack is comfortable for a small knife (but it has two springs, unlike the classic pen).

Also, People seem to regard Swiss army knives as non-threatening.

Try a Trapper, from Case or Queen (or Canal Street or GEC). I also have large hands, and find that a Trapper pattern works great.

You might also try the Case Eisenhower. I've been carrying one the last couple days and have been pleasantly surprised with how much I like it. My small knife has been a 108 OT. This Eisenhower is slightly larger but only two blades and one spring so nice and trim. Slight cutouts in the scales to help you get at the mail nicks too.
