I've recently picked up a small folder. But let me start from the beginning;
1. I had posted asking for a certain knife.
2. I received an email saying this person had one if I was interested.
3. Replied I was, asked what his price was, agreed upon and money order sent the next day.
4. Received an email that at first was quite excitable saying that now I have your money, you'll never see the knife because it never existed...but a few lines down he said he was just kidding and provided the delivery confirmation number...whew not a fun thing to read.
5. Box arrives, not the right knife, a smaller one from the same line but not what I expected nor paid for.
6. Emailed back to him, wrong knife, did he ship this by mistake and mine to someone else?
7. He emails back that it should be the right one, I did a scan and emailed that to him.
8. He says, ok, if you want, just return the knife, I'll return your money. I said ok.
9. Thought more on it, the knife is nice, smaller and less expensive, so I emailed an offer, difference was $55, said I'll keep the knife, if you send $50 difference, keep the $5 for shipping or what ever just to make it an even deal.
10. He agrees and said that he wanted to make sure I was ok with the knife, that's a good thing I thought. And said that the knife was growing on me and it'll work out.
11. No money order...
12. No money order still...I find his phone number from a quick search on Yahoo people search and call. He was surprised of course.
13. No money order even still...emailed him again, no response, but saw him on line on AOL and he claimed that the letter was returned for some reason along with other stuff he had sent out. And would get it out the next day.
14. You guessed it, no money order, emailed but no response, on line again and asked him what address did he send it to, same one, so now that one is probably making it's way back to him. Now the knife had the right address on the box, how the letter was messed up I have no idea.
15. Emailed warning that I need to know what's up and when he will send a new money order out or I'd post on the Good Bad and Ugly, which I'm just telling the story tonight, it's been almost a month now and he's not that far from PA.
So, I am a pretty understanding person, his initial email to me, wrong knife, no difference refunded yet, am I out of line to post his name to warn others? I told him I'd give him a chance to let me know if he is sending the replacement money order to the correct address. And of course I'd return his initial money order if and when it ever shows up.
Arrgh, right after my daughter's wedding, the funds would be handy right now, actually shouldn't have bought to begin with but impulses are strong at times you know.
If I don't hear from him by tomorrow night I'll post his name and forum name so others can be on the watch, otherwise mums the word for now.
Thanks for letting me vent a little,
G2
