Small Sebenza "Sans Clip"

I love the clip, but I'm pretty sure its snagged on a few things for me (but luckily I have not completely lost it yet). Perhaps the most interesting time was on those paper bags you get from grocery stores, I was carrying one on each hand and I think I got tired or just wanted to move my hands (whatever the reason), so I lifted both bags up for a second and back down, and didn't notice but a while later my girlfriend told me my sebenza was hanging off one of the bags...I guess the clip must have snagged on the bag and it got yanked out and was just clipped to the outside of my grocery bag...needless to say I am a bit more careful with those darned brown paper bags.

Either way, I still carry clipped most of the time, its just easier for me to use that way. I have carried some of my nicer CRK exclusively in their sheath, and thats not a problem either, I just don't like things being loose in my pockets and they kind of float around and twist sideways, etc. The sheath/clip prevent this, so its definitely one or the other for me. I will say, for my sheathed knives I do have the clip insert and they fit nicely, look sleek, and definitely improve the ergos, however, I am not bothered by the clip ergos too much.

I never clip CRK knives, I use the provided sheath.

I did remove clip, but then keeps falling out of sheath/pouch. So clip went back on simply to provide enough 'meat' to hold itself in the leather pouch.

I'm kinda freaked out to even try clipless. I was holding my 25 yesterday and realized that I really don't like the feel of the clip.

I tried putting knives in my pocket without using the clip but it makes me nervous. I don't typically lose anything from my pockets, clipped or otherwise, but if I did I'd be heartbroken if it turned out to be a Sebenza. Obviously I carry my slipjoints without a clip but those are usually pretty small and very light.

Argh... I don't know what to do. :(

Here's some pics of my small 21 with my homemade ivory plug made from a an ivory piano key veneer.

Did you glue that in? I figure on drilling mine so that it can be removed. Looks really nice btw. I bet it would look outstanding with ivory thumbstuds. :)

Edit- or an ivory bead! If you want, when you send a bit, you can send a little extra (if you have it) and I'll make a bead for you. Super cool of you for the offer btw. ;)

I'll send you some ebony keys with it, I didn't want to glue it so I used double sided tape, it's been in a couple of months with no problem, I recently popped it out to put the clip back on since I've took to clipping it on a piece of para cord that I have around my neck like a chain so it hangs within easy reach and I can tuck it is the way under the shirt when I don't want to be noticed. ;)

With the little monkey fist on the lanyard all I have to do is pull on the monkey fist and it flips over and with a good tug it pops right off. It's very secure and easily accessible.

The other thing with the monkey fist is that when I carry it in my pocket bottom, even it out could work it's way out, the monkey fist would do it from falling out without a really good tug.

Other than that, the monkey fist is easy to identify and grab amidst the rest of my pocket fodder.

I'll get it in an envelope and it to you this week.

Having read this post, I got rid of the clip from my 2010 small Insingo yesterday. It was visually pleasing to me but the problem is I can't flick open the knife due to the lack of grip. I don't know what to do right now.

Interesting. I find even very light kiridashi to be annoyingly heavy around my neck.

No rush on the goodies! Whatever is convenient. :)

Carrera50 - I received my AG Russell black leather pouch you said to get. I put my Mnandi in it. Am I supposed to leave the clip on or take it off. Very tight fit with clip attached?

Clip for me too. The convenience of the clip is the thing I like the best about the modern folder.

I've never had a clipped Sebenza come out of my pocket. I've had a few clipless knives slide out of my pocket when I sat in a reclining chair.

Always clips for me, just didn't know if the little pouch I got is made to accept the Mnandi with clip, tight fit?

Try placing the pivot end in between your index and middle finger. That leaves your thumb to deploy.
