Nice Chesterman.
What coin is that?
Thank you my friend, several family members worked for James Chesterman, including my great grandmother and grandmother. I collect the Chesterman Ruler Knives when I come across them. They generally carry the mark of other manufacturers though, and it's unclear if Chesterman ever made knives themselves, so this knife was an interesting find, even though it doesn't resolve the question conclusively.

Jack, I've always loved these sweet little pocket knives you come up with, especially the ones like this with a whole lotto wear from both carry and use. lades sharpened down to a different shape over years. It was obviously loved very much by its owner, and I can only wonder at what stories it could tell if it could talk.

Thanks a lot Charlie, the main blade on that one is almost a Lambsfoot now! :D Hope you're keeping well buddy :)

I don't really view 3.25" as a small knife these days, but it is a very ideal pocket friendly size.
Little peanut sized knives pique my interest most of all, but if I'm being honest with myself 3.25" is a real Goldilocks.

Boker's Barlow frame is amazing, a hair over 3.25" and quite slim / narrow making it extremely pocket friendly.
Obviously I blade deleted this 493 myself, but their current single blade offerings are made on the same frame and should have the same footprint.

If they offered them in carbon steel today, I'd definitely buy one.
I'll bet they would sell extremely well.
They're pretty standard in length, but just have a much smaller footprint.

A number of years ago Gary kindly gifted me this tiny little imperial he had that caught my eye.
I wore it as a necklace pendant for a few years then stopped for some reason and wound up loosing track of it.
I found it today, and decided to recover it with a couple scraps of stag I had left.

Here it is originally with it's rust stained white plastic covers.
