My daughter, 20 years old, came home from work today all upset. It seems that her friend, Holly Lynn, also 20, was abducted from her home this morning. She lives near my granddaughter's babysitter a few miles from here in Southwest Tennessee, and was getting ready to go to classes at our local community college.

Witnesses say that a man wearing camoflage was seen dragging her screaming from her house into the nearby woods. TBI, State Police and the Sheriff's Departments of two counties on foot, horseback and with helecopters have been combing the area since the report at 7:30 this morning with no luck so far.

As with most "first reports", this one has some odd details involved. Lord help the brother if he was involved.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says that her 25-year-old brother told investigators that he saw the man dragging his sister across the carport at her family home and toward a wooded area.

Smoke and prayers please for this lovely young woman with her whole life ahead of her.

Smoke and prayers sent.

Why the brother didn't give chase or have the police there sooner does raise some questions. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was somehow handicapped and unable to follow. I'd take a bullet for family. I'd have been out the door and doing my best to twist the guys neck shut before he reached the woods with my sister in tow.

All the best to her and her family.

My thoughts exactly, but I/we don't know the details at this point. If he was just chicken or impared or involved, it will definately come out. At this point, all we can do is pray for the girl. It was all I could do to keep my daughter from dragging me out the door to join the search. But that is the last thing law enforcement needs right now, more people out confusing and distracting searchers, especially an old guy and his blond 20 year old daughter.

That is scary, I hope they find her safe and unharmed soon.
Smoke sent.

Her cell phone (which moved around through the day) had been found in the woods, along with a knife. Blood was found at the home where the attack first took place, and a small amount subsequently in the woods. This from an unofficial source (my daughter, who went there in spite of my warnings). TBI and other official sources are still being tight lipped.

DAMN! I don't know what to say except that I hope she is found alive and the perp.........not.

No real news to report on the situation. Manpower increased to around 400 persons when the search resumed this morning. Bloodhounds, horses and ATVs. Grid patterns from yesterday being researched as well as expanding the search area. A lot of local speculation about the brother's role/behavior/lack of initiative. He is not a small guy, nor known to be disabled. More questions than answers on that detail. If/when the perp is caught, regardless of Holly's health status, he will most likely be taken to and held in another jurisdiction to await arraignment and trial. I don't think I need to explain why.

FYI, this is a small community, Parsons having a population of about 2,500 people. Almost everyone knows everyone else or at least a family member. I live a few miles South in the county seat which has a population of 1,000 +/-. Our children all attended the same schools. My daughter and Holly were classmates and friends.

Continued prayers, smoke and positive thoughts for Holly and her family appreciated.

Michael

I just read that story this morning. I am sorry to hear.

Parsons, TN - Sheriff Roy Wyatt announced during a news conference on Thursday, April 14th that a $25,000 reward is now being offered for information that would return 20 year old Holly Lynn Bobo safely home.

The Sheriff also officially revealed that blood was found on the carport where her abduction took place. This is rocking this small community.

A TBI spokesman said the possible abductor is a man between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds and not her boyfriend.

Her boyfriend was quickly ruled out as he was at work.

I hope there are some positive developments soon. I doubt there is a crime that motivates Law Enforcement more than abduction.

Well, the citizens of the county are motivated, that is for sure. The reward posted was supposedly donated by Holly's cousin, an aspiring country singer. The "command post" for the search has been moved from the family home to the county fairgrounds. More than 500 volunteers from Decatur, Henderson, Perry and other nearby counties have signed up for the effort. The town is a constant parade of trucks pulling ATV trailers, every other vehicle and business is marked by a pink ribbon bow.

A suspect vehicle was found eight miles away from the abduction scene. It contained Holly's cell phone and some items of camoflage clothing. Clarification from the Sheriff's department exhonerates Clint, Holly's brother of any involvement in the abduction. He did not have an opportunity to intervene either.

A primary suspect is known to LEOs and members of the community but is not yet publicly named and his picture not yet circulated, other than among LEO involved.

SARCASM]It is a good thing for the perp that we are all law abiding citizens here and none of the searchers are armed [/SARCASM]. Reporters have already been stunned when they knocked on neighborhood doors and were met by shotgun wielding housewives and teens. By now I am sure the MSM has glommed onto the story as the big vans are taking up space at the fairgrounds when I drove by. The trial, if/when it comes, regardless of Holly's treatment, will almost definately be held in another jurisdiction.

I have seen this on the MSM and an impassioned plea from the girls mother? for help or information is just heart wrenching... I just can't imagine. Continued prayers.

There has been some "yow-yowing" around here among young smartasses about how "unimpassioned" the mother, Karen is. She hasn't slept since Tuesday night and is being tranqualized by her doctors. She has cried until there are few tears left. She is an elementary school teacher here. Don't read the local Topix site unless you want your blood pressure to rise.

Dana, Holly's Dad is doing his best under the circumstances. Thankfully, the family is one that takes their faith seriously and they have great support from their church and pastor, and the outpouring from the town and surrounding communities is tremendous.
