Smoke request

my daughter sees folks who are "dead." Daily.

My highschool cross-country coach and five guys I work(ed) with all shot themselves in the head, and these people were among the most virtuous folks I have known. It is not all that unusual for squared-away people to do this type of thing, not that I recommend it necessarily.

As far as seeing dead people goes I have realized something very odd over the past couple years. When acquaintances are alive, I have always had great difficulty visualizing their faces. Now that I am at an age when friends/relatives are beginning to pass away, I have noticed that when they pass their immages start coming through crystal clear immediately after the event.

Sometimes their images start coming through before I receive news that they have passed. The local Priest doesn't think there is much to this, but I suspect it is evidence that these folks are still present out there in some form.

When I know someone very well, and they are particularly involved in my life, I can 'think along beside them' even when they are far away. Very often they are thinking and feeling much the same. I know that's not high up on the Mystical Wu Woo index....

Mentors and great hearted people will pass away. When a special friend comes into my life, I call them a God Friend, because it's as if the Lord Himself put the light in my path.

Ever since I've known you, Andy, you've burned with a singular intensity, and are one of the good guys for sure. I feel for you at this time. I know how hard it is.

Prayers up for you, your family and, most especially, your granddad. Who knows what pain he was quietly bearing.....perhaps he didn't leave all that early, after all. The Good Book says "Grace sufficient for every need." Believe it.

Damn Andy, that is a tough one!!!! I'm so sorry for your loss but I can understand why your grandfather did it. I've been real close a few times in the last few years myself and if it wasn't for my Barbie and my family and friends and things finally at long last looking up, well......

:(

Andy,
If you are a small reflection of your grandfather he must have been a heck of a guy. I'm sorry I never got to meet the man.

Prayers up for you and your family.

Sorry Andy, Shappa here...forgot which computer I was on.

Back from Miss. The funeral was a nice one. Lots of family I hadn't seen in a long time. Many of us had stories of temptation and even attempts at the same desperate action. He is still a role model for me and always will be. He really touched a lot of people. And he is still on the land, so to speak. Its still his land IMO. Walked to the back pasture yesterday. There was a deer streaking across it as I climbed the gate.

Cliff, that was interesting. I would have to agree. The ones that are gone are very clear in my mind. How interesting.

You lot are so good to me. Thank you.

I've very glad you got some closure, Bro. It sounds like you've got everything as under control as can be expected. We're all still here if you need us, of course.
