Smoothest Spyderco?

Manix 2.
The combo of the BBL and pivot make it drag less than most other lock systems. Replace the pb washers with bearings and it would almost open itself. :D

That's tough, many of them are smooth as butter on glass. They do a good job paying attention to that aspect.
PM2 and N5 also rides on a bearing pivot and freely swing so you bet they're smooth.
Sage1 was bonkers smooth.
Domino and Southard on BB's, glide.
I can keep going but you get the point. The least smooth are the FRN's. I like and own many of them but on some I had to clean and polish the insides as they simply didn't break in enough after months of use.

I own (or have owned) a broad group of spydercos. Millie's and pm2s, Taichung knives, etc. My answer to this question is pretty bizarre. Actually I started a thread about it a couple of days ago. The smoothest action out of any of my spydercos is on my pacific salt. I swear. Like butter. Way smoother than a regular endura or delica, yet there's not even any bushings in the salt knife. And the funny thing is, out of all my spydercos it's the one that gets used the hardest and receives virtually zero maintenance. It spends hours bathing in fish goo and saltwater almost daily. The only cleaning it's ever had is a quick spray with a waterhose and I almost never oil it yet it's as silky smooth as any knife I've ever owned! It's weird!

Edit: I got to thinking about my post and it sounded so ridiculous that even I didn't believe it. So I went and grabbed the big salt knife just to check...and yep, it's exactly like I said. Bizarre I tell ya, but I'm not complaining. :)

I haven't handled more than 10 models of spyderco, but I'd say southard is very smooth with its bearings.

My DLC manix, PM2 and Southard are at the top of the list. I think the Manix takes it, though.

I have a broken in PM2 that I am using a lot these days. It is very smooth. With the detent and all, Sal and crew are going to have a tough time beating this one. But I have faith! That and hope so, lol.

Not sure what it is about the Sage 3 but it is clearly the smoothest of my Spydies, Have a Para 1 that would be second. There must be something intrinsic to the design/fit of the Sage three. It is like 2 pieces of glass w/nano oil between. Smooooth. See's little use.
