Snakes.... !!!!!

Those browns are the deadly ones. We get tons of them around here. One bite and you have to drop everything and get to the hospital. Taipans are another nasty. See them in the dunes at the beach occaisionally.

We have adders here... They only smell bad.

And last I was bit by a spider, I was like; meh.... And stepped on it.

Gets a bit boring in the end...

And you can't even own a handgun
....oh but I beg to differ... ;)

Andy, Rob, did you guys read about the drunk who bit off the head of a Brown snake in Orange?:confused:
He's watched some docos with natives killing snakes that way and he decided to do it himself one day...

And you can't even own let alone carry a handgun loaded with birdshot. Makes sense.

LOL ... we only see lots of "worms" :) ... the ground is too saturated for them ... but there are flood warnings for Xmas and wearing waterproofs is "all the time" ... so its "Sunshine and Snakes" or "Rain and Worms" ... hmmm ... I think I might prefer the Sunshine

Don't forget the hoop snakes. Bad this time of year when the drop bears are are hibernating.

With a population less than 1/10th of the US You don't have the large "inner city" population that we have. Which, staticaly is responsible for the majority of those deaths. The ever growing population of disenfranchised poverty stricken inner city youths has lead to astronomical and unexceptable homicide rates. "Most" of these "victims" are not victims at all, but active participants in the crime wave.

The police chief in New Orleans has been verbally attacked due to his recent stance on these "victims". He publicly announces previous crimes of the person so people get a better understanding of their "lifestyle". Much to the dismay of their families who thought 'lil boukie was an angel.

I live 45 miles from New Orleans (per capita Murder Capital of the US) and I don't go there unless I have to, am armed, and with several other armed people. Statistical chance of becoming a victim of a violent crime there..... 1 in 132.

My close friend's 7 year old daughter was struck in the neck and killed while sleeping at her mothers house in New Orleans. Several gang bangers were shooting at each other and of course they all walked away fine.....well as fine as life in prison is.

We had a Neighbor step on a king brown snake in her house. The snake did not bite her because....wait for it....IT'S HEAD WAS IN A DIFFERENT ROOM! it was almost 10' long. It gives me the creeps just thinking about it. This is tough country.

Ugh. Snakes. Outside of black rat snakes, I seriously hate snakes.

I won't bother a black rat snake -- they mostly just run away. We get lots of copperheads and cottonmouths around here though, particularly if you live near a creek. Both of those are kill on sight to me.
