Snakes.... !!!!!

I was hoping for a thread about kangaroos.

Yeah but even as cool and non-venemous as they are, they'll still mess you up.

Really, there is no friendly animal in Australia.

If it weren't for the women with their accents, I would see no reason to go there. ;) ;)

Ahhhh yes..... nothing like a large red kangaroo to screw your morning right up.....

The mark up the door (and corresponding indentation) is from the tail getting whipped around and smacking in like a baseball bat..!!!

Andy, did it make him angry, or did he just hop away? :D

Chris.

Between the Snakes, Spiders and Roos without road sense ... you need a bit of luck to stay in good health ...

Found a nest of tiger snakes under a hedge outside my house last year. We could only find 15 young and the mother was gone this is an uncommonly small amount for a tiger. I'll have to be extremely careful this year now that they're all grown up. (Tiger snakes are extremely venomous and can kill you very quickly)

As for my previous post, I am in the Military and I own several handguns and rifles I am exposed to guns almost every day. So don't think I'm one of those annoying ban all firearm morons. I just like our current law set it is possible to attain a handgun, but it's not easy. My stance is more towards people needing to have training or having a legitimate excuse for owning a firearm (That does NOT include self defence.) Like someone mentioned in Switzerland almost everyone owns assault rifles. But remember they have ALL been in the armed forces, as its mandatory there. So they have had the training.

(Sorry moderator, had to make myself clear)

This is nuts, I'm not one who is easily frightened by snakes or spiders and whatnot but there is definitely a lot to be aware of in Australia. Holy Smokes!! And I could not imagine driving to work in the morning and run into a kangaroo. All I keep thinking is poor Roo, how's he going to live without Kanga?

LOL... that 'roo was as big as me (and I am not baby) ... I recall grabbing the dash (I was passenger) as saying VERY pointedly... YOUR GUNNA GET THIS ONE ..... ;) We had dodged several that morning already..... !!
