when my sister-in-law (who was living in our basement) had her baby shower, me, her husband, some of the other male in-laws and several of their friends went out back and inflicted paintball on each other for the afternoon.
 
Why haven't we formed a kazoo band yet anyway? It would certainly liven up the gatherings. Dammit Murphy you are brilliant. We also could use the kazoos to communicate between hammocks at night. It just keeps getting better.

Communicating between hammocks has never been a problem after chili night.

Got home from the holiday party last night to find a large pipe feeding from the well tank had let go -- in two different places about a foot apart. Not totaly broken, but a pretty decent spray from each.

About half of the basement was covered in about 1/2" of standing water. A good number of cardboard boxes that had been there 20 years had soaked up a bunch. Cat was on a raised island, trying to figure out what to do.

I had a bunch of 3/4" copper elbows and some scrap lengths of straight pipe, had the torch, solder, pipe cleaning tool. Everything EXCEPT soldering paste. Drove to the office/shop (23:30) and luckily found some. Back home I cut out the offending section and soldered in a new and went to bed. At least there was water to make coffee and flush toilets.

TODAY was wet/dry vacuuming day...

Cat mentioned above has had "a thing" for the last few months. She decided to ignore her litter boxes. So today in my rubber boots I spent vacuuming up a floor covered with wet cat poop, urine, throw-up, and water. And then there is dumping out the vacuum cleaner tank. I'm just so skeeved-out I can't tell you... There isn't enough soap or nose spray in the world...

And yes, it's the wife's cat, so no target practice.
 
Got the scanner set to the tower frequency of our local airport, 4 miles east. POTUS is flying in, closing the Interstate, and going to visit the families and responders of that school shooting, three miles west. Yay.
I wonder if they're going to give him a white horse to ride in on...

sucks about the water, but you got it fixed quick enough i guess. at least it wasn't in the walls. that sucks.

Time for a new phone. Anyone have the droid razr m? I'm looking for a smartphone with good battery life.
 
What carrier? Most any smart phone is going to be a daily charging situation. I'd probably go with a Samsung Galaxy model, as they have the best support and keep up with software updates longer than HTC and Motorola.

Verizon is my carrier. I'll check out some samsungs. I don't mind charging daily, but i don't wan to have to charge in the middle of the day. I browse a lot while I'm waiting for my trailer to be reloaded, so I use battery up fairly fast.
 
My HTC Rezound is needing a top off between noon and 3pm, depending on usage. This is after owning it for one year, so I'm not real pleased with that. Seems to be the case with both HTCs I've owned.
 
I had an HTC before I got my first iPhone. Battery didn't last long but My last 3 phones (iPhone 3, 3G, 4, and now 5) get charged overnight and last the whole next day and then some.

PS. I'm not an apple fanboy, I just like their stuff.
