So, decided NO on the kel-tech PF9. I shot it and just didn't like it much. However I did put a down payment on a Ruger LC-9. I'm gonna see if they have the Crimson Trace when I go pick it up. If not, I'll probably end up with the LaserMax. I wish the price difference on the three lines wasn't SO extravagant. It's roughly $80 per level.

LC9 is a good handgun. People dislike the trigger, but if you learn to stage it, it's no big deal. The gun shoots straight and won't let you down.

I can recommend the Walther P22 for a good .22 What is the significance of your tat? Did you really do it in the garage?

I got my first garage tattoo last night

Awesome bro! my first tat i was 12 or 13 and a few of us ignorant kids made some ink out of ashes and vodka. Then we started poking ourselves lmao, trying to make a "cross" in the end we all had some dots on our hands that almost formed a cross. i still have some of them dots still there today.

But now im starting to run out of "canvas" and i have more ideas than room on my body. my right arm is finished but my left arm has just started... Tattooes are addictive!

You'll like the LC9, CB. Don't worry about the Lasermax...honestly, with all the laser sights I've had, I find they make people lazy and you end up not using them after you get to know the gun. Like GK said, you may need to get used to the trigger. I personally don't like it that much, but can live with it. Now an XD with an PRP trigger....:D

I'm thinking about sending my XD40 in for a trigger job to PRP... Heading out of town for a week here, away from internet.

Thanks man and i know what you mean i cant go long without hopping back in the chair! both my legs are done, i have a large piece done on my back, my right arm is half sleeved and my left arm half sleeve is being designed now... when i run out of room im going after the kids

Really tho, my daughter was conceived in korea so i think it would be cool to get a tattoo on her foot saying "made in korea" lmao :)

That half-sleeve does look good. I've yet to get any ink and I'm afraid to start, because I know once I do, I'll go nuts with it. Wife isn't too approving of it, either, so there's that to deal with...

Thanks man, yea my wife is ok with it as long as a suit will cover all of it. so no ink on my neck face or hands and i dont want any ink there anyway lmao

A friend of mine has the S&W M&P 22 and I can highly recommend it. He has well over 1,000 rounds through it and has only had a few FTE, almost all of them with the same ammo (Remmington gold bullets mostly, I believe).

It's very similar to the nice ergos of the full size M&P's and it's a blast to shoot. I would take it over the Walther P22 any day.

You can get an M&P 22 for about $350, sometimes less.

That looks nice, hadn't seen it before thanks for the suggestion. I had considered the Walther but I also read that the slide is made of zinc-alloy and not SS and as such can be prone to cracking.

Today marks the first day of my so called X-mas vacation until the 7th of jan. Nice to have the time off, but not so nice being paid for only about half of it. Woke up this morning got the wife off to work and kids off to school. Decided the shop needed a good cleaning. Been out there since 8 a.m. I didn't realize what a disgrace it was. Takin a little break now. Been at it 4 1/2 hrs and doesn't even look like its been touched. Looks like I'm gonna have to start drinkin to change my perspective.

For "modern" looking 22 pistols, the Ruger SR22 and S&W M&P 22 are both great. I like the way the M&P feels more full-sized, however, so that's most likely the one I'll be adding next year. Also have to find a good CCW pistol for my wife. Well...she has to decide. Probably a revolver, because she wants easy and reliable. Although if they make the XDS in 9mm, I might nudge in that direction.

I wasn't a huge fan of the way the XDS feels. Felt like it was either made for people with long, thin fingers, or else I don't even know. That little divot by the trigger guard wasn't big enough for me to fit my fat fingers under on a high ride grip, but enough there to make it feel uncomfortable. Definitely would need a grip extension to be comfortable, IMO.

Bringing the 5 on the trip as a food prep knife. Glad to have one finally!

yeah, I'm not a huge fan of 'modern' .22 pistols. If you're looking for an understudy for your carry piece I get it, but otherwise there are so many AMAZING .22 pistols made of steel and wood... It's just another thing entirely. Long sight radius, great balance, target sights, all the bugs worked out, etc.

Well, I love the 1911, it my #1 handgun frame, but I carry the XDS every day. I did have to get used to it and now it's quite natural for me. That little divot is odd. I'm not sure why it's there, other than a reference point for you to know the slide is right above it.
