They just don't seem to have cozy places like that down here in Knoxville. Just big loud trendy Karaoke joints and franchise places with loud TV's, warm beer, mediocre over-priced food and crappy service from barely-legal waitresses who clearly don't want to be there.

Thats some of the stuff that keeps me drinking at home these days

Me too. Plus everything here is so spread out... you can't just walk down to the corner and have a few unless you live right by the University. Back home you could barely throw a rock without hitting a tavern. Even in the burbs and out in farm country you could find one pretty close.

I am not about to drive across town with a buzz on, and cab fare back-and-forth alone would cost more than decent bottle of booze... never mind paying $4 for a beer and $6 for a shot. :(

Mornin Gents. Heading back up to Indianapolis in a few minutes. Wish us luck. My 10yr. old daughter started having unbareable pain in her hips over a month ago. After that long worth of Doctor visits and theropy, nothing has worked and gotten to the point that she can't run, go up steps, sleep, play, carry anything you name it. She missing out on volleyball at school which she's most upset about. We was getting nowhere with her other Doc. So we went to a specialist in Indy. Today we take her for a MRI. He seems to think. There may be a stress fracture in her lower spine/back, said the MRI will definately tell us. He said there still a chance it could be something small so keep your fingers crossed for us. Because if its not, corrective actions could be devastating. Could include surgery resulting in a wheelchair for several months.
Hope and pray all goes well my friend.

Todd, prayers from TN inbound. Hope it's minor.

Despite all the antics of RYP here at BFC and elsewhere and the folding HEST 1.0 fiasco, I bit on this one. I know mistwalker likes DPx knives, and he has pretty durn good taste.
I was alerted to a deal on one of DPx's more recent offerings, and along with a couple of other B'heads who shall go unnamed, I got a HEFT.
It's actually a nice knife made by Lion Steel. I see some potential Becker influence here with the thumb ramp.

Dubz, forget about it. My hand just fits the handle.

Kydex liner and a small pocket in front. Molle attachment in the rear.

I wish your daughter well Todd. Hope everything turns out. Whenever I'm going through some shit I always remind myself that is could always be worse...

Prayers headed your way...

Todd-That's rough. It can be frustrating when the doctors are stumped and you feel like you could get a better diagnosis from google. Bad enough when it's your problems, I don't even have kids so I can't imagine how that feels.

TMHunt, will keep you and your fam in thoughts and prayers. i'm sure things will work out ok.

head's up in case anyone interested. threw a few up in the exchange... BK6 blank, 14, and baconmaker blank.

Todd, before you consider surgery, you might try consulting a D.O., who specializes in osteopathic manipulation, if you haven't already. They can often fix problems (they'd consider it helping the body fix itself, of course) that an MD considers chronic and requiring surgical intervention. I've been the recipient myself, as my wife is at a D.O. medical school, and it can be pretty miraculous.

Lee your avatar is giving me flashbacks lol I cant wait to get my revenge on bambi
