They have prizes for the fish caught and a raffle too. Hundreds of prizes including 2 pickups, a car, atv's, and tons more. I had a ticket, but forgot to get the day off, so no fishing for me, but I'll still be entered in the raffle.

Wow, from the deer hunting post awhile back, I thought you might be somewhere near DL, but with your handle, I thought maybe Wahpeton. Small world, I spent the first 18 years of my life about 30 miles NW of DL. Good luck on the raffle!

Small world for sure!! You must have lived up somewhere between Starkweather and Cando on a farm? I'm guessing in that general direction anyways. I've spent a lot of time up that way in the fields when I worked for an elevator here and I used to hunt a LOT up that direction too.

Cando, and between there and Bisbee, still have the farm, though we only seem to get back there for weddings and funerals. Good hunting, thats for sure, can't say I miss the winters though. :) Sort of a great place to be from... ;)

Just heard from Murph. Crazy bastard is doing Mooses cold wheather challenge tonight. I'm all for it but it only supposed to reach 9 degrees here tonight. I just text him told him id come get him if I needed to. But he's a hour away. Said he's O.k. He's been in some pretty sh!tty parts of the world in his life but damn man. 9 degrees. I hate to admit it but I'm kinda worried about the a$$hole.

Haha, I suppose I can understand that. It has been bitterly cold here the last few weeks.

I was really considering doing the challenge when we were getting down to 0 at night, but knew I would probably end up freezing my rear off an was going to have my pickup very close with plenty of warm blankets and whatnot to use if I couldn't handle it. Now that I have had time to do it the temps have been -10 to -25 at night, so I said to hell with it. I hope he has some sort of a backup plan that he can put into immediate action if he needs to.

Well I hope he does alright, could be worse, it was -31 (actual temp without windchill) round me the Thursday night.

Is he by himself? i hope he took a friend and hope he is ok and having some fun! But i cant see anything being fun in 9degrees ! I had a field training mission in korea for 45 days straight in the freezing snow! there was nothing FUN about that but at least there was 4 of us.

Still have family there so I track the local weather, I know its been cold, but I think in general the winters have been milder than I remember them. I remember once the furnace quit, and we had to wrap an electric blanket and insulation around the propane tank, turns out it was so cold the propane wouldn't flow...

That crazy a-hole! I hope he will be alright. I'm willing to bet money he has been in worse predicaments though.

Yeah I think he's cool. He's not far from his folks house and they know where he's at. I know where's he's at to and he knows I'll be monitoring my phone. Murphs been through to much sh!t in the real world to sweat this. Just think he coulda picked a better weekend.
