This is quotable. I never realized it before, but no great story ever does start with a salad. Or, for that matter, a smoothie. But at least with the smoothie, it starts of with high rpm whirling steel blades.

I have thought about it, and I see no reason to be remorseful about sleep walking or what Russians have to do with brass instruments and bullies.

Don't get me started on that. People with nothing better to complain about than one screw being a couple degrees off from the rest make me grind my teeth and think evil thoughts.

Not that I should really care... I use Corby bolts at least 90% of the time anyway :p

Got a few inches of snow down here so now everything is kinda slick. UPS is gonna be late with my river package but at least all non-essential personnel won't be coming in to work in the morning, which means less standing around out in the cold. It was 16* when I left for work and it's getting colder. The cold air gives me an annoying persistent cough.
 
I got a few tools for Christmas that allow me to make pens from kits. I've done a few, borrowing some of the tools, but this is the first one I did with all my own stuff. The wood I turned is cocobolo. It's a fun hobby that I can tell will be just like any other...expensive to keep upgrading the tools!

That is good looking. Amazing how hobby is just another word for "wallet thinner."

I'm sure they're nice, but that pile of oak and maple I cut up today would not have gotten touched if I didn't have my trusty Husqvarna. I'll race you if you're interested. :)

In my former life as an active EMT, I would have seriously considered the possibility that my patient was suffering from a "cerebral incident", aka stroke, if they had been spouting this type of verbal diarrhea. :D

You should hang with me more often then. This weekend at one point Googily Moogily was brought into the conversation along with praising the gods of 5 different religions in 3 different languages. It's rather amazing what comes flowing out of your mouth when you first see the woman you love in an outfit that... yeah... Hot tubs are magical places!

It's quite lovely looking indeed! But hobby has many synonyms! Of which I think "wallet thinner" is the last that comes to my mind. Usually "time suck" or "time vacuum" make their appearance first. I always felt a hobby is more about the time and "zen" than the money.

I'm not one of them, I really don't care if the bolts all line up straight, or if they are all wonky-eyed, or if they are corby bolts, or even if they are all just flared tubes to feed string through. As long as the knife works and feels good in hand...

I'd agree whole heartedly with the "zen" and time aspects of a hobby, but given how much this knife thing has pulled from my wallet, it's an aspect I can't deny.

This I will have to 'Giggity gittity' :thumbup: I will say one thing about owning your own hot tub... its better when you get them OUT of the outfit while still in the hot tub :D


Went shopping with my son yesterday. Picked me up a set of 5.11 taclight pro's + TDU belt, some new 'Smiths' bench stones, a small diamond hone for my EDC bag, and I got the boy a mini-mag light :D good time was had by all :thumbup:

Those must be some big balls G. Normally when my balls are taut its harder to make them smack ;) SNARKAHOY!!!!
 
Condolences Dubz. Never good to lose any family member.

Curt got to go home from the hospital last night. His platelets are going up too. Good news for sure. Thanks to everyone that sent out the prayers and well wishes. It looks like he's getting back on track pretty quickly.
