Condolences Dubz. Never good to lose any family member.

Curt got to go home from the hospital last night. His platelets are going up too. Good news for sure. Thanks to everyone that sent out the prayers and well wishes. It looks like he's getting back on track pretty quickly.

Glad to hear Curt is doing so much better! That is good news indeed!

Tim, while I heartily concur out of the suit is better, in most cases, in the suit is also quite enjoyable for sure!!

Hey folks,
I was out walking Oz this morning and found a tomahawk in woods. There was no one around and it was just placed on a log. Only markings I could find were 3J. Anyone know anything about these hawks?

Does it look like this:

It's a gift from the forest, Gus. Enjoy it in good health.

I'm not one of them, I really don't care if the bolts all line up straight, or if they are all wonky-eyed, or if they are corby bolts, or even if they are all just flared tubes to feed string through. As long as the knife works and feels good in hand...

There ya go  The people who get really upset about that sort of thing tend not to use their knives for anything but collecting dust anyway, so... *shrug*

So, do Corby bolts get glued like a pin and ground/shaped with the handle? I'm working on a couple of rehandle jobs and wondered about them...

Yesterday I got out with the new .357 and it's a winner. I can consistently hit a 2" bullseye at 25 yards...with the occasional user error. :) With 38sp, my son is ok with it, too, so it'll be fun to mix this in with the 22 rifle for him.

Thanks! That's what I figured, but hadn't found much info. Are those what BHK used too get their silver/gold colored pins?

So I keep looking at the Battle horse knives, the Frontier Valley knife. Anyone have anything to say about them? positive or negative. . . Anyone have experience with them?

Exactly. As shown in the pic ww posted above, they provide excellent shear strength like a solid pin and since they're threaded together in countersunk "pockets", there's no way the scales can pull away from the tang.

There are a few good makers but I don't believe I can list them on the forum, as I go in trouble for listing where to get a 25% off coupon on Becker knives for Christmas. Do a google search for "throwing tomahawk" and you will get a result near the top with "forge" in the name. They make good ones and are made in the USA.

you're right H&B forge makes great hawks as long as you don't link to a none BF supporting dealer you're fine.
The reason you got in trouble for the coupon is it's considered deal spotting, which is a no-no
