regarding the whole S.O.E. debate. I don't take offense to his way of making money. For him it works, it starts with making a quality piece of gear and then getting the people whipped into a frenzy and talking about it. Thing is though, he does make a quality piece of gear. I have a couple pieces of his stuff and I like it. The tag doesn't bother me, the shirt and the swearing doesn't bother me. The reason I know he wouldn't treat my mother/sister/girlfriend/whoever like that is cause he only treats dumbasses like they're dumbasses and the ladies I know aren't dumbasses.

Well, I realize I'm probably overly nitpicky in this case, but there's a price to finish ratio/expectation involved, in my warped mind at least. I suppose, if you carry it long enough, the pits will fill with pocket lint, and it'll look just fine. :p

Same could be said of Busse. Whatever you want to say about marketing, some of the knives are quite good, especially the Swamp Rats.

I tried awhile back to use tapatalk. I wasn't smart enough.
 
They did the same thing on Android. People are pissed.

I actually kind of like the Swamp Rats and the Scrapyard knives. I been trying to decide if I want to get a Scrapivore or not. I love the neck knife style, however I already have a ton of that size/style knives. I like the Ratmandu as well, however the one I had I wasn't a huge fan of. I probably will get another one, but I would like the scales to not have that horrible ridge design throughout them. If I can get some plain scales on it, and then contour them it would be great.

I just auto updated and got the nasty surprise. Give them a crappy review. Maybe the developers will listen if people start pulling the plug.

Don't have the Safari option....but Tapatalk is really drawing heavy vacuum right now. Been (attempting to) using it and this new change forked it worse than it was before. Can't tell what's been read, stickies are in a (somewhat hidden) sub menu.....it is absolutely terrible. Gonna try to do it in Chrome, but I just can't read print that small anymore with these old peepers.

:thumbup: I no longer own any Busse knives..... But ill die with my Chopweiler. Wish i was around when the Ratweiler was a real Ratweiler too. 1/4" DHT goodness. The newer 3/16" through hardened LE ones seem like a cheap alternative that cost more.... The CG model is suppose to be priced at the original Ratweiler price whenever it comes out... I ordered mine nearly 2 years ago during an online glitch when they were accidentally listed for sale 1 night only.... But its still hasnt been released yet. Ill get the CG version when its released... But id much prefer the original.

They said they still have some of their egg nog stout available as well.... So ill have to try that one too.
 
Awesome blade. The Bluing? Really makes the temper line pop out too!!

On my choppy you cant really see it unless you hold it at the right angle. I thought about etching it to bring it out more but never got around to it.

Worked on my FFG 16 a little. This is the one I ran stock through the ESEE survival class.
Added some green liners and longer screws. Ground the screws back to flush and brass blacked the ends. Broke out the heat gun and some sandpaper and tuned up the sheath mouth so the wider handles would fit. Feels better to me with the thicker handles. :thumbup:

Looks good! I really like my 15 with liners, as well. I'm thinking maybe a FFG BK16 is in order as a new year gift to myself. :D
 
For those having issues with tapatalk and looking for a decent browser, I use Dolphin, and like it quite a bit. I've tried a ton of different ones and it seems to work the best.

I use it for other forums but not Bladeforums. Tapatalk seems not to understand the concept of User CP or subscribed forums and there's waaaay too much traffic not to narrow some stuff down.

I've left Tapatalk "out of date" in the iPad and it's nearly useless on the Android, now. The navigation takes a lot to get used to and isn't intuitive at all. As a company, I'm just about done with them. I originally paid for their product, because it was unique and worked well. Now it's free and I get the joy of having them insert ads into my browsing that pay them (not the forum) and the product gets flashier and harder to use with every update.
