Well thanks, Captain Obvious :D. No but seriously, of course that's the plan. Not really sure on how to start making one. What wood to use (or what definitely NOT to use)? What locking mechanism (probably friction folder but who knows...). Just how to start, really.

To be honest it was an epic time. It was mind-blowingly awesome! The location is awesome, the weather was perfect, would love to get a few more folks up there. Just need everyone to remember the "spirit of GLIB." we spent so little time actually in camp, we did geocacheing, found two of them on the island, we went hiking, swimming in the lake (ok it was more playing/cleaning in the water.) the fire went out every day, twice a day. We did quick meals not huge ordeals, it was awesome! We did SOME crafting of bush like activities but not much.

He starts kindergarten this year. Last year he went to a pre-school program with speech therapy, and is still going now.. I think his last day is in 2 weeks... He didnt get much of a summer break LOL but he only ever goes to that 3 days a week from 8-12... So it wasnt that big of a deal anyways.

That program has done wonders for him though as far as talking goes.

Ill be glad when they are both in school all day.. That will give me some time to actually get stuff done.

We had quite a few snows days last winter as well.... SO many in fact my daughter only got 1 day off for spring break, no joke. We had plans for spring break too so that SUCKED.

My kids start school September 8th i believe...

I think so as well!!

That was the picture Todd posted a few snark threads back... I saved a copy of it because it looked sweet and i was excited LOL

But my anticipation and excitement flared back up when he told me yesterday its already been heat treated and asked me what id like for the handle material!!

:D...... I chose Curly Maple... :D

I should have realized that the picture showed it still in Todd's hand... I was thinking he had shipped it to you and you were going to finish it...

Saw a thread where a guy made like a douk douk from a Opinel blade.

Still in on page one.

Good choice my friend good choice. That will look stellar. I understand the excitement too because the knife Todd and I are working on has been heat treated also! Really excited to see everything come together.
 
So is anyone with kids actually looking forward to summer vacation ending, as it brings an end to whatever all day TV entertainment it brings with it?

It is the real page one because anyone who doesn't have their settings set to 40 posts per page is behind the times. The handle is basically just stamped metal folded in a U shape. Similar to a pocket bushman.

Works pretty good for the most part. Every so often you have to scrub the sticks a little bit or they get clogged.
