Not the real page one...only the fake one... Now I have to google douk douk...

It is the real page one because anyone who doesn't have their settings set to 40 posts per page is behind the times. The handle is basically just stamped metal folded in a U shape. Similar to a pocket bushman.

Incorrect! Twenty posts per page is the only correct and true setting! So you are in on 2!

Don't know what page this is, but I'm on it. :D

...as are you!

But it should also be pointed out that 3 is the place to be!

p.s. I did read about the douk douk on Wikipedia....most educational!

a new snark already? dang...
outdoorsfamilyman4 "I will ship you a glass of water from each and then let you decide if they both look the same and if you would rather.drink one or the other"
just messing around, lol... this weather is driving me nuts... it's humid and moist and not so good on my resin experiments...

I think so as well!!

That was the picture Todd posted a few snark threads back... I saved a copy of it because it looked sweet and i was excited LOL

But my anticipation and excitement flared back up when he told me yesterday its already been heat treated and asked me what id like for the handle material!!

:D...... I chose Curly Maple... :D

Good choice indeed on the curly maple. However WW. Just so you know, the handles on this thing needless to say are tiny. Hopefully I can find just the right piece that has fine enough grain to do it justice. When working with the maple, its kinda a gamble on how it comes out. The smaller the area your working with, the higher the chance you my not capture the grains, but I'll do my best.

Good choice my friend good choice. That will look stellar. I understand the excitement too because the knife Todd and I are working on has been heat treated also! Really excited to see everything come together.

Your piece Zach is indeed heat treated, the second pass grinding is done and the handle material is roughed out. Almost ready to head back your way.

In other news, got my new plasma cutter today. This thing is freaking cool. Hooked it up and gave it a test run. Cut out a rear section of a old semi frame about the size of a shoebox. 3/8 thick steel mind you, cut it out slick as a whistle, didn't even screw up the paint. Even thought I bought it for the subcontracting work I'm doing, I've already got the gears turning as far as using it for some cool bladed projects in the future.

Thanks a bunch Todd!!

And no worries, i can completely understand about the grain! I have no doubts it will look sweet regardless!!

In the spirit of trying to find my "grove" in the self employment world. My wife and I have been having long talks about simplifying our lives and trying to get as debt free as possible. So, one thing we wanted to do was do away with was car payments. We have a pretty decent Tahoe thats paid for, then we have my Jeep which we still owe on. Well, as painful as it may be, its gotta go, but we still need a decent vehicle to replace it. Think we found it. Lucked into it really. Bought this jewel from friends of my parents. They have 3 BMW's and this one just sat in the garage. As a matter of fact. They owned it for 12 years and only put just over 50k on it. Have all the service records, everything works. Its a freaking cream puff. You guys wouldn't believe me if I told you what I got it for. Paid him cash for it and my wife is thrilled to death, said I can have her Tahoe. Sell my jeep and problem solved. No more car payments and still have a couple of decent vehicles. I'm doing the happy dance!

This isn't 1997. We have high speed internet now thus we must set our posts per page to it's maximum allowable snarktitude.

Right on Todd. Not having car payments is a wonderful thing

NICE job!
Even-swapped a paid-off wrangler for an older Lexus RX300. Traded a ton of problems for a MUCH more practical vehicle.

I'm super excited about that. I have had car payments since I was 18. Im 40 now. To only owe on my house and have decent transportation is huge to me. Especially to have a cool beamer in the mix are you kiddin me?. Always wanted one but never thought id luck into one like this. I'm just beside myself, and the wife is happy. Win win.
Now if I could just convince her to sell this house in favor for a more conservative house in the sticks, id be tickled pink! That may be a little trickier. Lol. Baby steps, ;)

By the way, anybody interested in a 2006 jeep? Got one for sale! :p

Freakin' Yuppies. :D

Be glad when my wife's car is paid for. Then I can get a Jeep, haha. I've actually been thinking about getting a Jeep Liberty, but I haven't researched them yet.

It's almost page four and nobody's crapped in a Ziplock yet.

Well this sucks, had the lansky turn box for less than a week and the rods already broke, don't even know how, opened up the end of the box and they came out in pieces :(

Freakin' Yuppies. :D

Haters gonna hate..........but its O.K. G, I might even take you for a little spin around the block next time you swing by. But only I get to put on the driving gloves, lol, got a pair to match my new plaid driving shorts and titlelist sunvisor :D

You know you've been shopping the Neiman Marcus site for driving loafers and an ascot. Just own it.
