WW, it was Biscuit that was showing the ban button. I'm pretty sure it just happened to be your profile when the biscuit screen capped it. He jokes a lot like that, I wouldn't take that too serious.

I didn't even know there was a trial going on till tonight when everything went kablewy.

yes. it was a rough week. double shifts. i'm crispy. but i'm the mod too ;)

my "real boss" buys me scotch when i'm a hero. Ethan? i just get bbq and good stories. and knives. and hookers. and ponies.

both are good, but damn, bbq :D

we sometimes forget "here" that there are "official BF rules". i remind you to read them again. so we don't have to work so hard to protect you from them.

remembering too, a certain well known vendor took his business, and his sub-forum with him, because of those rules.

it's a thin line, but i will defend it. for you. from them :D

heres what I gotta say about the whole pony thing........... I know both of you guys.......And for some reason, the fact that you guy are discussing ponies truly disturbs me.

(OK, probably not -- Old horse was pretty nasty the one time I ate it, I can't believe pony tastes any better)

God today is just HORRIBLE.

I finally decided its time to go cold turkey on tobacco this morning... well the wife helped in the decision after a not so good trip to the doctor yesterday...err Friday..

So i haven't had a single cigarette today, and the wife wont let me use beer as a crutch either. Yet she had 5 right in front of me ARGGH

Im angry, cant ever sleep, im sweating and anxious on and off, and i feel like i cant breath.... like im quitting crack cocaine or something.

I want so bad to sneak to the store right now while the wife is sleeping and buy me a loosie, the evidence will be gone long before she wakes.... But ill know...... dammit :(

I might be offline, or atleast not posting much for a few days as i cant really keep a cool head, and i apologize for it, but i don't want to make another mistake or something just because im moody, like a girl on the rag or something...

(loosie = single cigarette, I never heard of singles being sold until i moved to philly and its actually not legal but almost every little corner store sells singles for 50-60 cents each)
 
Good luck with the cold turkey. I finally quit in January and I am glad I did. It ain't easy for sure but totally worth it.
Best advise I can give you is to carry a picture of your family with you and when you really feel like giving in take a look at them and try to explain why you can't keep your promise.
I didn't stop thinking about cigarettes every day for at least a month and still get the occasional strong craving.
Stay in touch with people that will support your decision to quit. Even if it's just an email or text. Every little bit helps.

I been smoking cigarettes over 15 years and i always "knew" id quit, and always thought it would be easy when the time came. Hell i even though other people that couldn't just quit when they wanted were "weak minded". I was an idiot. I been trying to quit now for months, since January, new years resolution and all, but just couldn't stop outright. But come to find out 4 cigarettes a day is just as bad for you as 10 pretty much. your body doesn't start recovering from the damage until you stop completely, so i thought i was doing better but really i was just prolonging quitting with no heath benefit. My lungs aren't pretty and my kids NEED their father! So enough is enough, im only 29 and was told i could pretty much recover almost completely from the damage i have done if i stop NOW.

The family picture is an excellent idea, thank you that's exactly what i will do, It will be hard for me looking at them to smoke one anyway.

Yesterday was a good day. Had to work until 3PM, right after that I jumped in my car and drove to a piece of property my girlfriend's dad had bought a couple of years ago some 28miles away from where we live. He likes fishing but was tired of the cheating and arguments that occured during competitions, but he still wanted to be able to fish quietly next to a pond without having to get permits to fish in rivers and yadda yadda. So a couple years back he bought a little piece of property with a pond on it, totally isolated, with a small house on it. He retreats there most weekends of the summer enjoying the quietness with his wife. Anyway, yesterday he invited a part of the family to celebrate the fact that he and his wife have been married for 25 years. We had an awesome BBQ in a quiet and peaceful environment. Got to use my 14 while eating the BBQ meat. Fun to slice through everything while the rest is struggling with their butter dull steak knives. But oh well, I'm the weird guy, right?:rolleyes:

Had some good bonding with my future-to-be father in law while fishing too. Caught 5 Carps and 4 Common rudds in about an hour and a half so I was always busy, that was quite fun. He learned me some techniques with the fishing line, hook and all that of which I wasn't aware yet. He and I got to use my 14 while replacing lines and hooks. I think he appreciated it. I'm sure I liked every single bit of it.
And the 14 didn't rust or disintegrate in my hands, how about that:D
 
i quit smoking in '98.. almost as bad as kicking heroin im sure... regardless of what you are told or how old you are damage to lungs varies by the individual some can smoke 50 yrs with no problems others develop cancer of sorts within a couple yrs of smoking.. fact though, it takes 15 yrs after you quit for your lungs to fully rejuvinate... im in that curve now
 
I smoked for 18 years. Tried to quit frequently, but was always sneaking a smoke during the process, etc. One day I woke up, seemed like a good day to quit, and for whatever reason, I never looked back. It didn't bother me one bit. No withdrawals, nothing. I started lifting weights about the same time, and was gaining weight so fast, I had to buy all new clothes. I went from 165 to 212 lbs in a few months.
