so impulse me, i grabbed one of those kershaw parangs, it arrived today.

goodness. the test drive, in the cold, without gloves, chopping on some poplar and maple, frozen, 1 to 1.5 inches or so.

with a frozen log backstop, easily cleaning the 1 incher, and a few chops on the thicker stuff. sticks good ;) but it bites deep with authority.

on some 3 inch stuff, i could give it a good whack, then a knock to unwedge it, rotate, and was magically through very fast.

nicely nose heavy, very thin, has a rather silly swedge on the top - in other words, a baton-destroyer

sheath is interesting too. if that breaks, you are SOLed because the blades is pretty sharp, and there's no "backup" but duct-tape

Pics man, pics.

That's funny..grape kool aid lol.
It's also funny when ppl talk about southern food...guess since I grew up here, every place is southern. Ironically as I type I'm at a mom and pop called Old South. Delicious southern food, but to me its just "regular" food. It'd be weird to not have greens, cabbage, fried chicken, etc on the menu any little diner.

Mine came today too but I didn't have a chance to test it yet. Hopefully next weekend I'll be able to go up and try out all the new blades I have lying around.

Thats all great.... but how does it throw? :D

First impressions of the Ganzo? looks like a test tube clone baby between a Lionsteel and Benchmade

Pretty much. It's solid and beefy. Needs a little break in, but not too bad. Can't go wrong for the price.

Hey, daizee.

Check your PMs. Just sent you a link to a beeridashi pic. Hopefully it's what you need.

Nice, let me know how they hold up. Apparently the '440C' ain't too shabby.

G$, we didn't end up going on the weekend. Will text you when we are able to go! I've been suffering from a bit of a nasty virus for the past week :(

No worries! Keep medicating. We'll make it happen when you are feeling better!

They had Grape Kool Aid on the menu. :D

I was a Kool Aid junkie for most of my life. Always had a bunch of packs in the cupboard. I use to travel a lot for work and when the flight attendant would come by with their cart and ask what I wanted to drink my standard answer was, "Do you have grape Kool Aid". Almost always got a laugh out of the flight attendant and the person next to me...after a moment or two for them to decide whether I was really stupid and serious or whether I was merely being hopeful. :D

Now I want to find a restaurant somewhere here in the north Dallas area where I can get Kool Aid with a meal.
