had intended on using the nice weather to make a shelter this weekend for D's contest -- instead half a dozen folks descended to sight in rifles for an upcoming hog hunt and shoot handguns. so from 10-6 I was acting rangemaster, jam clearer, gun medic, and ran a sighting in clinic.
I'm a little scorched now.

OTOH, I gave away a NIB BK5 and a Skelemag to 2 of the guys who were there.

If they were on their own property and didn't damage anyone else's property?????

What are they planning on charging them with? Blowing up their own money?:eek: Wasting tannerite? :rolleyes: Or, or, or... heaven forbid --- Having fun? o_O

Now if they were on public property or the booms caused damage to someone else's property, then charges of some sort are probably valid.
 
I am not sure what the charges filed would be?

The news article said that they know who did it and they think the first blast was 50 lbs of tannerite and that the second blast was 100 lbs. They say they received hundreds of 911 calls from as far as 30 miles away.

I do not know how far away they were from us but the ground shook and the echo went on for a long while. They were certainly big blasts. It must have been pretty intense for whoever shot them.

How much does 150 lbs of tannerite cost?

Looks like it goes for $6 to $8 per pound when sold in packs of 10 1/2# packages, so $900 to $1200 for 150#
 
I sold my BK20, Tarahumara backpack, 2 48oz Nalgenes, and a Mountainsmith Day pack today. Have another pack I just listed too. Feels good to lighten the load a bit.
 
On my last week's vacation this week. Got a lot of needed yard work done today. It's been so dry here, I haven't mowed for over a month. We finally got some much needed rain, so I finally got to mow. Raked the dang walnuts up first. So, I think I'm going to head to the cabin Wednesday morning, for an overnighter. Going to work on my driveway, to widen it, so I can dig a ditch, before getting it rocked. Wednesday is supposed to have a high of 68°, and Thursday 74°, so it'll be a prime time to go. Supposed to climb back into the 80's after that, ick. Looking forward to going there. Wanting to see the gate the neighbor made for me as well.

Does anyone know if there's rock for a driveway that's more brown in color? Not crazy about the white rock. Too lazy to Google it.
