Sneaky Pete Sneak Peak

Man, I'm so torn between an Asp and SP ! I know you prefer a blade that will patina with use, but if that CPM154 patinad as well, which would you prefer 01 or CPM154?

Well, I have done a lot of testing with various Crucible particle steels and have been happy with the performance of them, but in all honesty, if corrosion resistance isn't a big factor, I really wouldn't see a reason for the expense of the upgrade. I don't know that I would want an O-1 blade as an edc knife in south Florida where I used to live, or especially for one I stored long term in a kit. But other than that, I have always been extremely pleased with every aspect of Andy's O-1. That said, I am glad to have a couple in the stainless for travels to the coast.

You know what's nice about the sneaky handle? It's hand filling even with a tapered tang and relatively thin scales. The handle design is wide the other way , I've been carrying mine everyday inside the waistband , it's perfect for me. Did some fire prep too and my hand didn't cramp like it does from most thin handles

Yep, I've been thinking about a tapered 5/32 version myself. I love the amount of control of the blade this handle offers.

This thread deserves a bump.

I'm loving my Sneaky Pete. The handle is all business. In fact it's the nicest fiddleback handle I've come across or felt. Andy left this handle extra burly for me, and it's very choice. I'm taking my SP with me on a little R&R to the Monterey peninsula. I plan on taking lots of pics.

Duder,

Your Sneaky Pete looks very good in a tux. I agree that this model has the best handle going. I love mine.

Have a great trip.

looking like a pair of well oiled machines aching to do some damage.

I soooo need to get a SP in 5/32 tapered. That black handle looks great with it too, but I think I want a lighter colored one, maybe a wooden or coffee bag burlap...

Here is my Sneaky Pete with Pinecone and red aluminite on black g10 with a white g10 pinstripe handles and it has a tapered tang with the 5/32” thick steel with a convex grind and a nice red kydex sheath.

That is a beauty TLA! I love the Pinecone.

With all the talk of how comfortable the handle on the S.P. is, I need to move it to the front of my "need to get" list. I just picked up a Duke which held that top honor.

That Sneaky is awesome! Very nice sir.

J. Duder, that SP is awesome.

I just got an Asp in Friday, now I REALLY want a larger SP

If you like the Asp, but wish it were beefier, you'll love the SP. It almost feels like the SP's handle is twice as wide as the Asp's. But I don't have both in front of me to be sure. I will Monday morning though. I'll post some pics.

Sounds like the Asp is the one I need :)
