Snecx CKF Terra Patiently waiting

I think the CKF website calls it a high end mid tech limited production. It’s a Snecx collab bottom line. There aren’t that many Snecx knives you can get your hands on. That might be part of the price. But a damn production shiro is at the same price and isn’t as well engineered or hard to produce. Again hence the high cost in some people’s eyes. It’s not high to me. Hell I could have easily got many high end mid techs at 750-1000 dollars that aren’t limited or as hard to machine.

They will be worth more than the money spent if it is a true one time collab at limited numbers as they claim. Unlike many 750-1000 dollar none limited mid techs or custom knives on the market that don’t hold the value.

If you want to save money and get a fake Snecx knife they are selling copy’s of the ifs-20 on Ali for $330 grab one.

Please tell me what mid tech or custom holy grail knife you have purchased for 900 bucks that’s just as hard to produce as this knife. Or justify you spending 900 bucks I’m curious what knife that is for you and why it’s any better or rare than this Snecx collab.
That was my initial impression also. Not sure that price and low production number would be enough to constitute a true mid-tech but boy that price sure makes a compelling argument.

I got this for less than $900. It’s a Bugatti veyron compared to your Volvo.

In your eyes. To me that is an ugly knife.

You said, show me a midtech or custom holy grail knife that I have purchased for $900 that’s just as hard to produce as this knife. Well, I just showed you a one of one that is much harder to produce and much more expensive to make. I just trounced you. You never said that YOU had to find it beautiful now did you. I got more but I can see your a person that does not like logic.

You didn’t trounce shit. What is that thing? How do you know it’s harder to make? It is a lot less you have to fit together. The Snecx is way harder to machine properly with all the components fitting together. Plus let me see You dissemble and put that back together with your bare hands. The Snecx is just a different beast all together. From precision machining to functionality. You trounced nothing.

Article from Knife News June 2018

CKF pushed mid-tech knifemaking to the limits with the Terra. This design was based off of the legendary IFS-20 from SNECX Tan. The small batch release emulated the screwless construction of that custom knife in a production format. “That was one of the most difficult knives to produce,” says Mike Kulygin, Founder of CKF. “A genius idea but difficult machining, and extremely hard to get the fit and finish so everything worked right.” But the result was worthy of its custom predecessor.

It came alot quicker than expected. Initial impressions are as expected great execution and precision machining. It's razor sharp and feels great in the hand. I find the front flipper easier in my case than spider or thumb flick. I own and have owned alot of other front flippers so I tend to enjoy them. Trying to decide if its going to sit in the safe or if I will carry it. Enjoy the pics.

Don't know why we're fighting over which knife is better than the Terra in this thread.

It's perfectly fine if people think this knife is too expensive. It's equally fine if they think it's the best knife ever. You don't have to prove your preferences.

This knife (imho) looks FANTASTIC and has the coolest frame design I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I've decided not to try to get one. :( Too expensive for my limited budget. If this had featured a new locking system, maybe. I'm hoping that we'll see more production knives from Snecx Tan in the future.

For now, I'll just have to admire other people's Terras. :) Seems to be an awesome knife.

The Snecx Hoback Buster looks great too. That runs at 800. It's a bit on the large side for me. Looks impressive none the less.

Looks awesome, congrats!! What number did you get? I'm setting here patiently waiting for my postman to delivery one to me. Should be here on Monday.

It is a great knife have fun with yours.

Thanks!

Today my SNECX Terra #53/100 was delivered by my favorite postman!! Workmanship is awesome, and the blade is beautiful. The action is piss poor, nothing like my other CKF knives.

Today was my day to receive knives from Russia, I also had a Shirogorov 111 3D with Vanax 37 steel delivered.

I see nothing wrong with the action. I do have many front flippers so didn’t take but a minute to get used to this one. Blade also falls shut too. It’s better than my Zieba, Burger and Kizer front flippers action wise. I have flicked the shit out of it today. Took very little time for it to get better at dropping shut needed some force at first.

They are as they claim imo although midtech is a loose term I think we can all agree :)
They are at least hand rubbed finished on the blade. I believe that not the only manual labor in house on these knives.

You are definitely paying for the name also as his customs went for a lot.
Err timascus in transit. If you guys thought 900 is overpriced haha...
Actually I have to admit zirc fits the design the best.

Yeah his IFS-20’s only 5 of those made went as high as $15,000. His custom Buster’s went as high as $6,000.
I don’t mind what I paid the knife is great all around from precision machining, blade polishing, functionality, name and just uniqueness in general. Plus I love front flippers and knives of this size and weight in general.

Anyone have experience with CKFs payment plan option?

I submitted an order for a Ti Terra with a payment plan request in the comments as advised. I received an email stating if no payment is received in two hours they’ll cancel my order. Not sure what to make of it!

I might as well just pay in full and get it over with.
