SnG or a Rift?

Axis Locks are SUPER Smooth as we all know, and love them. and are strong as can be. BUT, jam that baby in the mud and it's Jammed like a Gun. For general EDC if you're not an "operator" it's Great. Rift is Smooth, Beautiful, and defiantly tough.

Not so sure about that...

First, he's Just flicking it back and fourth. It's not Showing if it's a tight lock-up. Like a Broken OTF or Gravity knife that doesn't lock anymore. Just that the blade's still moving. I got some pants/jeans fuzz on/in/caught the spring that pulls the pin forward on my 710 and it wouldn't fully engage. one side was pulling and the other was not, so I could still flick it open and closed, but if I stabbed something it would have defiantly folded on me. If BOTH sides of the pin aren't in the tang, or the spring is caught with something(ie:dirt, fuzzy wuzzies) the little springs that pull the pin can give you problem.
Take it apart and see how it works. Oh, Don't. That's a Void on the warranty:-(

I saw in a magazine (Blade maybe?) a number of knives being abusively tested. The Rift was one of them and it passed without failure. I believe some spine whacking was also done. Maybe this knife is tougher than people might think.

That was in Knives Illustrated. Good article and the Rift passed every test. I have a 950-1 in black G-10 and it's a really good knife.

The blade locked in the closed position. Once it is locked and the pin has moved onto the tang it is not going to close. You equated it to a jammed gun which is not the case. Even if it was stiff a little push forward of the lock bar would engage the lock.

I pretty much only use AXIS locks anymore and have used them in some nasty conditions and have not had a failure. I have had a frame lock wear out and don't like my fingers in the path of the blade. I will take a AXIS lock every time given an option. The Rift is my EDC and I don't think you are going to make one fail.

Just because someone paid the money for a strider I think many don't want to admit that there are other knives out there that cost a fraction of the price and are equally strong, if not stronger.
