SNG stronger than Sebbie?

I actually liked the G10 but just wanted to be different.
I am thinking of doing a thinner TI scale ( something like .090 ) and then Camo Micarta scale on top..... seeing as I have a few different sets of scales for my Emerson's I didnt want to leave my SnG out .

Adding the .125 TI scale did add more weight though...for carry in the pocket I think the G10 feels better. Of course once I get the leather sheath made it won't matter ;)

ahemm....oh Mr.Graley :D

Well, if you ever get tired of toting all the weight around, give me a yell and I'll be glad to take it off your hands for you ... ;)

How about this one? Probably stronger than my Sebenza?

All I can say is both my Sebi's are spot on and far stronger than I ever need them to be.

I really want a Strider AR but simply have not been able to find a supplier who can sell me one! Doh!

Strider knives are a more specific market than CRK's they look way overbuilt and are quite 'loud' knives! I love em!:p

Hey Wayne!:D How are you doing? I haven't seen you around here recently.:( I thought maybe you just dropped out of sight. I agree with you totally. Great to hear from you, don't be such a stranger!:) ;) :p

well I know love my SnG allot more than my Sebby.... I liked it more in the beginning.... now it is ALLOT more :D

Freaking beautiful! Have you thought about making SnG mod kits (Ti slab and back spacerS)? I'd pay $100 or so for one...

I don't own either folder (gonna get one from my girlfriend for xmas..just have to make up my mind which) but I will say that you can at least FIND a sebenza if you want one. SnG's are almost as hard to find as a whorehouse in Iran.

Good point, SnGs can be hard to find. There have only been a bit over 500 (200 Model 1s, 200 Model 2, 100 Model 3 spearpoints, a few Model 3 tantos, a few un-numbered versions of all 3 models and assorted customs) made. Whereas there are thousands of Sebenzas out there.

The SMF will be even harder to procure. AFAIK, mine (#C0002) is the only production civilian (that's what the C in the serial # stands for) SMF out in the world. At LEAST the first 100 or so civilain SMFs are already reserved.

BTW, just in case anybody's interested, here's the story behind the SMF, badly paraphrased (by yours truly) from Mick's announcement 'somewhere else':

The SMF was selected by SOCOM to be an issue item. In the beginning there will be only matched sets of knives. For every SMF sent to SOCOM, a matching numbered knife will be sold to a civilian.

Part of the cost of the civilian (numbered) SMF will go to the production of the government issue SMF. This helps Strider provide the knife to the government at a cost that is effective. Once Strider has the ability to match governmental demand, they will produce a 'normal' non numbered version.

One of the guys in DET-1 will put the civilian SMF owner in contact with his DET-1 counterpart. It's just a bit like the POW bracelets. Needless to say, I will carry and use my SMF proudly. Not a drawer queen!

One last thing, the number by the clip on the military/civilian SMF is the date DET-1 was formed. The number by the clip on the protypes (serial #s start with XM) SMF is the date DET-1 the prototype SMF was produced.

Just received my first ER fulcrum II. I'll bet these will give AR and SnG fans a run for their money. They are well made and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Time will tell , though the Extrema Ration folders didn't really do much for me when I checked them out at Blade West , just personal preference though.

They are built like tanks , you certainly couldn't break one and for the money a hell of a deal , as are the Lone Wolf Harsey folders.

It is just kick a$$ to have so many options.

Lynn :

working on proto 2 TI scale for the SnG. Instead of .125 TI I am going to try some .100 . I will keep you in mind my brudda if I decide I end up with an extra ;)

I have not even given a thought to selling them , I just do this for fun and to keep me busy in my shop.

I gotta give major kudos to Mick for hooking me up with the backspacer , that brought it all together.

Strider service...above and beyond !

Hi Scott, I am now a moderator on the premier european knife web site and its taking a fair bit of my time... Plus I only get to use the net in work... So much to do, so little time!

Anyone who's interested its britishblades.com ALL CRK fans are very welcome! There are quite a few unconvinced of the Sebenza's qualities individuals over there and a sudden influx of fans can only be a good thing!;)

Yeah? I'm going to have to check that one out. The more knife sites there are to spread the word, the better for everyone, right?

Scott - I just registered over at British Blades. It looks like a pretty good board. Check it out.

Believe it or not, I've been to a whorehouse in Iran. Government run! Of course that was long ago.
