I have had several of both and the XM easily beats out the SNG in every way possible. It is worth the extra price, but considering a nice CGG SNG is going to cost you $500, an XM for another $50 or so is a steal. Plus, Hinderer has Excellent customer service, which Strider does not. Plus, the XM will hold its value, while the Strider will drop like a new care coming off the lot. I did not get to read all 5 pages of posts, but I am sure just from what I know about the knives that the XM will be the hands down winner.
I'm selling the SnG because I already have an XM and a Sebenza
The SnG doesn't excel at anything. Sebenza cuts better, XM is tougher. I'm thinking of getting rid of the XM as well since it doesn't cut as well as cheaper knives and it isn't stronger than a small fixed. I'm getting my first Military hopefully this week and expect great things. I've been carrying a Razel, Vic, and a Q36/Sebenza/Umnumzaan/Insingo and I got all my bases more than covered. The SnG is a knife nice to look at though.
I don't know about aftermarket stuff, but I'd rather leave it as is and sell it. Besides most mods ruin the looks of knives.
So, has the OP decided on a knife yet?
...yes. I am packing a 3.5" cf scale flipper as i type. Thanks for all the input, i have monitored this thread before i made my decision.
On the other hand, my god, what have i done?
