So, a belt loop and a loop for a thigh strap make a survival knife now?

I needed that!! Thanks! lol :D I think I've got to view some of his other vids...

That was a good laugh! :D I do think the sheath is a very important part of the "knife system", but I would never use that as a buying indicator!!! I think the guy meant well, but I would look for advice elsewhere:D

I've watched some of his other videos. Regardless of his knowledge...I think this guy could quite possibly be the nicest guy you'd ever meet. I think you're right Rock6, well intentioned, but...

So, do you think I should I stick my knives in the sand and dirt along a creek to keep them sharp, just like he does?
;-)

I checked that video out a while back.... i thought it was pretty funny... can someone please invite that guy over here...:o

That Nighthawk is not only the cheapest knife of the bunch, its also very possibly the strongest. Those things are nearly indestructible.

I'v seen that video before and got a good laugh out of it. He thinks the sheath is more important than the blade.

What happened to knowledge being more important than the knife? :)

I think that most of us would do better with a rock shard than the average person would do with any "survival knife."

First time I've seen that one...thanks !

"No good knife is made of stainless", lol. The phrase "can of worms" comes to mind...

I guess that's what you get when all you need is a digicam and an internet connection. I take back every word I said against that 'Teddy Bear' survival guy...there is someone on video who knows less ! You're right though, he does seem earnest and trying to help. I think he just needs to practice a while before it's time to share what he 'knows'.

Kinda tough to invite him here...we are all calling him names. I think he meant well, and I didnt see anything wrong with his advice, just lacking from our perspective. Gene

Owning two of them, I concur. I have a regular Nighthawk, plain edge, and a Short Nighthawk, combo edge. I've beaten them pretty good (at least the larger one), no problem. Including batonning.
