I have a Spyderco Military and a special PM2. Funny thing, I always try to get a Shaman but places i shop always have the serrated version only. I've almost just resigned myself to getting a serrated version but I haven't done it yet. (Also im drinking cocktails so none of this may make sense) lol At Blade Show i felt a Shaman lightweight that will be coming out. That was pretty cool.

A Bailey model 4 flipper would put you at $350 I believe. Very nice knives.

I agree with saving a little more to get into a CRK/Olamic/Spartan/CKF/Liong Mah/Hinderer/Microtech range of folders...$400-$600.

If you absolutely want to buy now and keep it at or under $300, try to find a Freeman Button Lock Flipper in S35VN.
 
I had one if these in my hands months back and really loved it. Almost forgot about these.
 
TRM ATOM, Quiet Carry Drift or Waypoint, ZT 0620 or 0630 in carbon fiber (discontinued but extremely sought after), Protect Malibu, DPX Gear Heat Urban Titanium. All are around the top end of your budget.

Zt 0452 all day. 562 is good too. It will run over that “sleek GTR” PM2 like a tank over a civic 😁
 
Anything other than a Titanium frame lock flipper. They have become so main stream that I just want to take an angle grinder to every one of them I see 😁

I don't know how much more of the "lock side, show side" BS I can take. So..... your knife is only HALF ugly?!?! Lol

EDIT - Don't listen to me, I am a grumpy old timer who still think pistols without hammers are "weird".
