First I'd like to say that I do knife modification for a living. If you're not into it, then please don't even bother leaving me a rude comment. I'm not sure if this has been done before but it sure was a lot of fun!
I shortened the blade to about the size of a Para 2, And gave it a nice tanto tip. What do you guys think?! I would be all over a tanto Military if Spyderco made one.

Better pics but that helps. Looks great on this end. How does it look folded?

Well,i have no idea what they look like.
So what do you guys think of my all gold military fixedblade?;)

Broke the tip huh? :p

Actually that looks pretty badass. The handle to blade ratio probably isn't the best though. A stock millie isn't great to begin with.

Cool though.

Pretty Cool Mod. You Did Very Well.
I Like It. I Wouldn't Carry It, As I'm Not A Tanto-Girl, But It's Super Cool.

Looks great! I think if you took the belly out of the main blade and made it straight it would look cool too.

well done. not something I would want, as the Military has a practically unbeatable profile from the factory, but you did nice work.

I like it, like someone posted above, if you straightened the belly out a little bit I think it would look even cooler. Just a question, you said the blade was now about the size of a para 2, well could you put that blade on a para 2? Just a thought as that would make the handle to blade ratio a little better, and the compression lock is just cool. Anyway good work, looks great.

I would shorten the handle as well, if you did as good a job on the handle as you did on the blade it would be perfect!

The locking surfaces are completely different designs on the tang of the Military and Para, it would either take a ridiculous amount of modification to fit, or be pretty much impossible, without completely remaking a new handle/lock.

Im going to try and answer all of the questions in one post here. Basically, the handle to blade ratio is now much different. When the blade is deployed it feels very beefy and top heavy. Even though I removed about an inch of metal from the blade it feels heavier because of the fact that the blade gets thicker as you go back towards the tang. I like the feel of it a lot. Before I was always worried about snapping the tip off of the knife but now it's ready for some serious work! I could see myself modding the blade even further to try and get it into a para 2 handle (God help me)
I really like the belly on the blade so I decided against straightening it out like a normal tanto. It's been a busy weekend but I will try to get some pics of it closed tomorrow! I did the same tanto mod on a Para 2 blade so I will post a pic of that as well. I'm surprised no one has said anything about the handle scale colors!

Looks awesome, but I think I would like it more if the tanto wasnt so stubby looking:p. Great job:thumbup:
