So, something has been nagging at me......

I have no complaints whatsoever. I've seen some people post issues, but that's what a warranty is for and Ka-bar has always made good on the warranty.

I know, I just liked having the logo prodly stamped on and going nowhere rather than a slightly visible laser etching when strippred thats all.

someone recently etched it a bit deeper before stripping, and I thought that was a great mod to accommodate the new manufacturing process.
I'd replace 'proudly stamped' with 'violently stamped'. Ever seen it done by hand? egad.

It's easy to get complacent about our modding processes - we just have to develop new processes to turn out awesome mods to the new, better blades. It's an opportunity to get creative. :-)

While I prefer the old chunky Camillus handles, I'm seeing improvements across the board. Performance / balance tweaks and I like the fabric sheaths (its not Kydex, but I find kydex noisy in the outdoors.)

And yeah, prices are pretty much constant - hard to complain about that.

Becker's have to be THE best knife value for the money out there. Got no complaints from this guy Moose. I'm a knife maker myself and push these knives on my friends. Kabar was there for my dad in WWII and it still does an awesome job today. As far as the handles go, I haven't heard of anybody breaking them while beatin' the fire out of the blades. BK&T and Kabar work great together. Just look at how crazy we get waiting for the newest and latest. Got your back Moose!

Ka-bar and Becker are top notch together. Not a single complaint out of me. Very few companys take the input of there customers and put out the products like Ka-bar. I love the fact that I can help support a "Made in the USA" company as that has become quite rare anymore. In my opinion, Ka-bar goes above and beyond for its customers and offers us amazing knives at amazing prices.

Having had some really crappy 1095 knives, I'm a huge proponent of Kabar / BK&T, now. Regardless of that fact that they're putting out stuff that should cost a lot more than it does, it just out-performs most production knives in it's category.

I can see where some of the complaints are coming from, and I think the jump from Gerber / china knife shops to a quality knife makes people think they should get all the greatest accessories with the knife, too. However, they have yet to find out what a real high end knife is and see that what you get for your money with a BK&T is phenomenal. Education will fix those perceptions, but it doesn't stop people from creating a rant on the first BK&T forum they can find after the type Becker into the Google machine.

I"m happy best knife for the price.

I think the people complaining know that too. Notice they are still in the Becker forum, and not in the whatever-is-supposedly-better forum. I don't get why anyone would expect any company to make things in production personalized for 100,000 individual tastes. You're supposed to do it yourself.

The only thing I don't like is the new coating is harder to strip. But thats just because I like to strip them. Doesn't make sense for Becker to sell a bare carbon steel blade. Out of the box, it does what it is supposed to do just fine.

If I wanted to complain, it'd be about all these neat changes starting to happen barely a month after I bought my Becker. In my household that's called Van Kampen Luck.

I want my knife to have a flamethrower. Make it happen. I will not stand for this injustice any longer. I'm entitled as a free American to wield a Becker with a flamethrower. Anything but, is unconstitutional. George Washington said so.

People be trippin. They're just upset because their fan base isn't nearly as sexually attractive.

I actually liked the old sheaths just fine. And I'm even more happy with the newer ones. I mean, seriously. The old sheaths can take a lot of abuse, and they're heck of a lot better than the sheaths for say, a Busse or Swamp Rat or something (and look at how much THOSE cost). I have never had a problem with the quality of Beckers, or the affordability, and for that matter, I haven't seen all that much complaining. What complaining I have seen seems to be mostly related to the VERY occasional older one that's slipped through QC somehow, or has a few machine marks that are only cosmetic, but don't affect performance at all.

There's a reason Beckers are one of the VERY few production fixed blades I'll still even bother buying.

And this is why the only knives I own are made by KA-BAR. Specifically, Beckers. Because you can't find anything comparable for less than $200 (well, anything that MSRPs at $200), and they are entirely your knife after you get down to making it yours!

The only thing I would change, would be to have KA-BAR slap a dealer smack-dab in my little 1 mile road strip town, and have them sell them for internet prices, that's the only thing anyone could ask for beyond what they already do. And all that does is makes it more convenient to just pick one up!

That they even take the time to listen and improve upon an already great product is what amazes me. They are cheap! At their price point and made in the USA, might not matter to some people but it does to me, add in designs that work and not just the latest zombie fad crap design and There is simply nothing better.

You cannot please everyone with every change and some people only want to find something to complain about anything.

Fixed :D. Cheap usually indicates low quality. Inexpensive indicates low cost to purchase. Yeah, that's right. Grammar nazis have struck again.

Do I have to go read my facebook again? I get really bad about grammar after reading 10% of my facebook updates. Thank god I'm home schooled, most of my friends that go to school spell like they're 6 years old...

Fixed that for ya. ;)

Anyways, back to the real story here. These are the best knives out there. I appreciate the thought that goes onto them. Even if there's a slight change, it's for a well thought out reason. I would love to know the thought that went into each one. Would be nice to have a history page from Ethan, of the thought process. What was the intended purpose the knife was made for, etc.
