  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

So there's a Grylls knife clone from RS6...

Not a knife I would buy at any price. Let alone in a knock-off version. :)

Sorry, looks like a $5 chinese big5 "special". Sierra could do a stronger sheath job drunk- in her sleep.:yawn:

440C, IMO, can be one of the best steels for field use if it is heat treated right and the geometry is done properly. This....I doubt. :jerkit:

I don't care about the politics, but geez, If they can actually get $175 for a half arsed design and execution job like that, I need to double my prices!!!!

Don't want to start a new thread for this:

What the * is the notch/depression on the handle supposed to be?

I collect survival knives and paid a lot for it. These knives are hand made and of high quality. I like it fine, but am not recommending it. A Mora can do just about anything the Bayley can do. Sometimes some of us buy things for reasons that have nothing to do with need or practicality. It gives me pleasure to own it, and that is what matters to me.

Indeed! In my case, that explains the 6' cast statue of Cupid and Psyche in a corner of our garden, and the Pre-Raphaelite art on the walls. Not very practical but gives me pleasure every time I look at it. And the occasional knife or two...

Of course, the good thing about knives etc is that they can be practical and aesthetic at the same time, even if somewhat controversial to some. /end preaching to choir mode :o

Personally I quite like the look of the knife and, had I the disposable income, I would most likely buy one to try out. Like you say though, I don't see anything it can do that my Barkies etc can't, at a quarter of the price.

Pride of Purchase or Ownership. An important concept.

Horn, that is very succinct.

"Imitation is the highest form of flattery"...nough said, but I will continue, cause I like to listen to myself:p
Bottum line is that a knife is worth what someone will pay for it..and the Bayley is expensive, but so is the Ray Mears, and so many other knives out there..SO WHAT. If I want one, and buy it, tough. If you cant afford one, tough.
We spend so many pointless types responses to ideas that we somehow know what is best for this or that...the knife that works for you, WILL NOT work for the next guy the same...thats just the way it is, so why bother.
I might have a big hand, or small hand, a fat wallet or an empty one...its all relative, and really doesnt matter . Threads like this make me feel like I am on the Dr Phil show or something. Lets get back to the pictures of nature and Talfruche and Magnusson ragging on each other, thats what makes the sun shine, so why not.

It would really be great though, if you got one that was misprinted and said 'beer' instead of 'bear' - oh man...I'd just love that knife to death!!!
