So, this sucks....UPDATE!! It don't suck no more!!!

Yo Moose, piece of advice. Go back at night, the darker the better, and search with a flashlight. Hopefully something shiny may pop out at you, and you'll find it.

One time I lost my knife while running some wire in an attic with loose-foam insulation. Got home, realized it was missing. Went back, and for about 2 hours (in Texas, during the summer boy was I sweating) and I finally found it. Another time I lost my lockpicks at a theater, only to return 7 years later, talk to the facility maintenance guy about the last time I was there, and low and behold! He had my pickset.

My point is, sometimes, things come back to you.

Thanks for the advise fellas. The seatbelt and car was the first to get tossed. I cleaned it out, and checked, and double checked. No go.

We moved that pile of brush twice yesterday, ran over the whole area with metal detectors and a shop magnet on wheels. Found a useless lighter is all.

Retraced my steps, back to the USPS Post Office. Talked to the guys there, since they see me twice a week, and they know what I do with knives. They hadn't seen it, or anyone picking up a knife off the floor. I looked there just because.

Then, I went to the Chinese buffet that I ate at that day, searched the parking lot and asked the folks in there if anyone had seen it or turned on in. They said no.

So, here is my theory, when the rag got jerked out of my pocket, it loosened up the knife, then it fell out of my pocket when I got out to go eat. Someone pulls in to where I was parked. Got'me a buffet and a Spyderco.

I've already mentally checked off as being gone, gone, gone, so, onto bigger and better things.

I'll probably pick up a new PM2 at SHOT this year, stop in an say "Howdy" to Sal.

I went fishing and realized I had brought my S90V Para 2 so I put it in the cooler. My wife went to make a sandwhich and used it in the food prep. I was idling along and somehow it went out of her lap, up, and over the side of the boat. I got out and looked for 30 min but there was 15" long grass so it was a lost cause.

It's gone forever and the salt water probably has it well on its way to returning to the earth. I never was able to replace it.

I lost my first spyderco, a fully serrated dragonfly. Don't have any idea how I lost it.

I also lost an original spydie standard at my step-daughter's home. It is still one of my favorites.

I gave an original manix to the son of a friend who lost it deer hunting with us. Luckily we found it hanging in some camouflage in the 12 foot tripod he was sitting in!

Losing a knife is distressing.

I stopped relying on pocket clips after I lost my second Spydie. Now I keep my primary secured to my belt loop with a 3 ft length of dark cord (bowline ftw). It makes me look like a Boy Scout, but I haven't lost a knife since.

I ve misplaced knives and months later found them! I wouldnt be surprised if it turns up someday!

I had a Camillus Talonite EDC that hid from me for almost a year and a Benchmade Stryker that only turned up in the pocket of a pair of pants that were folded and in a drawer!

You just never know when/if it might turn up...but if you think you lost it in a parking lot then that doesn't bode well.

Moose,
I hope it turns up for ya before you buy another Para. If it does show up you will be the happiest man in the world.
About 4 years ago I lost my Delica 4 on a golf course. Left my name/address at the proshop. 7 months later it was in my mailbox with no return address. I was a happy man.
Don't give up hope.

I have 550 lanyards on all my knives .If I want some extra security I put one of those cheap aluminum carabiners on the lanyard and attach it to something like my belt loop while at work or cruising thru the woods . We called it "dummy cording" while I was in the military and if you dont like losing gear its a good habit to acquire.

i always check these threads in hopes of a good ending. sorry dude that sucks

Yeah, thats why I came back to look. I hate that Moose, but I do think you will love the Para 2 when you pick one up.

OUCH !!!!
Man, I hate that for you. Would like to have one of those myself, but they have gotten to high in price.

I'm lucky, and have never lost a good knife. Well I did loose an old mint Case Stag Trapper, but it turned up 5 years later in this hidden slot in my safe. I searched that safe for days, and never seen that slot under the door untill last year. put my fingers in there, and there it was.

Go look for it again. And again. I lost my wedding ring after severely cutting my hand on a beach once. I looked for several hours and could not find it. I went back and scoured that area two months later and found it. If you know it's within a general vicinity, finding it is just a matter of time.

Moose, I was just shopping on a large internet retailer named after a famous river (hint hint) and they have the original paramilitary in stock in Black/Black, Black/Silver and Camo/Silver. The Black/Black is pretty expensive but the others seem reasonable. Sorry to hear about your knife, but maybe you can still get the version you prefer to replace it. BTW, stories like this is why the Paramilitary is at the very upper end of what I'll pay for a knife that gets carried. I'd have a heart attack if I ever lost a Sebenza or a Hinderer or something.

Moosiepoops,
I lost an all metal engraved Delica 4 that my dad gave me. I carried it for 5 years EVERY day. Lost it at a Barnes and Noble in Des Moines. Seriously, text me your address and I'll make sure a paramilitary 1 finds you.

Sorry to hear about your loss, I've lost a few cheaper knives like my Buck Oddyessy back in the day when doing paper routes. Side note TxSxB whats on your spydie hole? I'd definitely run something like that over a ziptie.

Kwik Thumb Stud, with the thicker blade stock you have to file out the inside of the stud a little bit but it's not too much work, and it's totally worth it

WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, wonders do never cease to amaze. I had written it off, gone for good, start looking for a new one to get, and BOOOOM!!!!!!

I get a call from the city worker picking up the piles of wood we stacked, and he says, "I found your knife". I literally jumped up from my chair and went flying into the street, yup, sure enough, he found it. Found it along ways away from where it started. Guess it made its way about 50 feet from where we had been looking. Hell yeah, got my Para back. Only a little rust around the stop pin, bout it.

Wo0t!!!!!!
