And it will feature the now infamous cauterization scene. Who's watching? I am. I'm still a fan of Cody and am pretty excited for the new season.

I'm watching it. Dave was probably asked to do it by Discovery to get people interested in it. Either way, though, the show does usually keep me interested.

Yep I am going to watch it too. They get to go places that I do not lol. The show is not perfect but I am interested in survival skills.

I want to see it. I don't watch any TV as is right now - so it will be fun to see something I actually want to see a little.

I usually miss the shows until they are rerun but this whole caterization thing has got my interest, I am suprised to see Cody assisting though.
Cody's books IMHO have sparked interest in bushcraft and such from those not ordinarily interested in woodsy stuff , I would have read them already interested.

I don't have cable, I have to wait till they post it to you tube, but they were great about doing this last season.

im glad they got signed for another season.
interesting stuff
beautiful scenery of places
i probably will never get to visit.

Pretty good episode. I like those two guys, less focus on the "friction" of their backgrounds, imposed by Discovery. That shelter Cody built was pretty damn cool, lots of material on the ground there to use.

Anyone recognize Dave's pullover/rainjacket? It was hard to tell if it was an oiled canvas or something else. I've been thinking about an Army poncho, but don't like how they block the view of my feet, depending on wind.

I liked it. His jacket looked like a military Anorak but not positive. I also caught the new Scout version of the BHK knife, pretty cool. I also liked that the arguing wasn't played up. Good stuff.

I have been trying to track down the anorak he had on too. But can't seem to find an ID of it anywhere.

I can guarantee that I will be watching paint dry, or something else exciting, and NOT watching Cody.

I caught the last 15 minutes. I think one of them had a Mora Classic in one scene but it was so quick that I couldn't tell for certain.

In the opinion of a surgeon who is board certified in 2 specialties and ATLS certified, the cauterization thing for that wound was incredibly stupid and unnecessary. The only thing underneath the wound in that location is a very small amount of subcutaneous fat and muscle. There is almost no chance that a wound of that size, in that location would cause life threatening bleeding. If they were worried about infection, they just increased the risk many fold by creating an eschar of necrotic tissue on the surface of the wound. Bacteria love to grow in dead stuff. People should stop trying to play doctor in the woods. They just end up looking stupid to people who know what they're doing. Its like the guys who dress up in Army guy costumes and tromp around in the desert shooting sage bushes. I'm sure people with real military experience look at that and just shake their heads.

It's too bad the ridiculousness level seems to have increased with the 2nd season of the show. My 5 and 8 yr old sons don't even like Bear Grylls anymore because of his foolish piss drinking, seal skin wearing, etc. and now we got people setting themselves on fire !
Maybe I'm just getting old.
I would watch a Cody only show. He's more my speed. Dave is just too much of a macho man for me. I knew guys like that in the Corps that would punch soda machines and break thier hands if it stole thier $$. Evolve dude.
I'm not watching anymore.

I'm hoping they got the ridiculousness out of the way with the cut and burn and the rest of the season can be more reasonable. That shelter Cody built was pure awesome though

I like both of them, although for different reasons. I just keep in mind that some of what they do is for TV and controlled/dictated by the producers. I watch it with my BS filter on a small micron size. Once Cody placed the bark on the shelter, it sure looked good to me. I watch every type of these shows that air as I usually learn something. I also find them to be better viewing than 99% of what is on the boob tube.

I don't watch TV that often, and "survival" shows are one chance for me to see places I might never get to visit. Just makes me what to go camping even more, minus the piss drinking, seal wearing, gun powder, and cameras.
My Pitbull is my survival partner, as long as she doesn't roll in shit.
