So What’s In Your Collection?

Im trying to get Adam to come visit this fall, matter of fact gonna call him today again about it. If so, be looking for some new work from him and some collaberations between the both of us.

I dont own alot of custom knives, sold them off over the years to buy equipment etc., here are 2 i do currently own-

I heard something about Adam having to stop makingknives and thought that was a real shame. I met him at the Fall 2005 Hammer In. He is a terribly nice young man and a very talented one too. He got that great article in one of the mags and I hope that he can pick up where he left off.

Jay,

Your collection is sensational!

What a treat, one of the very best that I have ever seen.

If you ever lose your mind, and decide to sell that Herron Stag Chute Knife. Please call me first.

The collection belongs to my Father and me. We met Mr. Herron and Mrs. Barabara back in the 70s and have picked up the knives over the years. A lot directly from the Herrons, but the majority came from shows, dealers or friends.

Thanks,
Jay

I have a Brad Duncan knife!! I have a Mini Whiplash, and would LOVE to get a Medium Whiplash!! I love his knives too.

I have it narrowed down to:

Tom Mayo
Phil Boguszewski
Scott Sawby
Grant & Gavin Hawk
and just started an order with Jens Anso

All the others have come and gone. I sold a bunch off when I decided I wasn't really a collector.

Gus of those sharing here, looks like you have the most makers represented in your collection by far. You have one heck of a collection.

How long have you been collecting?

I really do have a small collection. I have six Hanson folders and a Cliff Parker folder. I love small delicate colorful folders. I want to expand and possible find a bowie in the near future. Maybe in NY next month. Im only really into the works of about 6 makers but need to expand. I wouldnt mind picking up one of those Audra Draper Cowgirl flippers to use as a carry peice. Sorry for the off tangent.

Kevin,
about 20 years. (Maybe a little longer).
