So, what constitutes good bone jigging?

This.

Here's an example of what DOES NOT constitute good bone jigging.

This is a buffalo horn Peanut. It's the only Case knife I've ever been totally disappointed in. I honestly can't see why Case thought this was acceptable. I emailed Case about this and they replied that it looked "normal" to them. I understand that horn can easily tear out during the jigging process but in my opinion if Case can't polish and finish the jigging then they simply shouldn't try to jig horn in the first place.

Some of my favorite jigged bone is early New York Knife Co. I like the random jig (some might call it pick bone).
A wharncliffe whittler.

Not old jigged bone but pretty nice looking is the Amber jigged bone on this 2012 Case 6375 stockman.

Meako...That rope cut bone looks awesome...I got this 80,s Primble Trapper off Duncan...The Utica bone is near perfect,as is the F and F....In my opinion as good as ,if not better than any of my GEC,s......Fes

Whoa-it just looks damaged more than anything else -I can only imagine its an artistic concept that didn't quite work.

About as good as it gets. First is Old Remington bone and second is Old Utica bone. Both from Wilfred Works.

How about some Bad to very nice jigged bone on some made in Japan knives.

Horrible Jigged bone on cheap low end camping knife. I don't think they had grasped the concept of Jigged Bone.

And Yes; some very nice jigged bone can come out of Japan; witness this 1990 vintage AG Russell / Cattaraugus marked sleeveboard whittler.

Gorgeous jigging fellows. I've always like this one from Boker, I call it basketweave, although I'm sure that's not correct. A sucker for a Boker and Congress, the jigging is a plus.

I like the jigging on this Schrade-Kious Reverse Congress. I've always been curious what the jigging pattern is.
