So, what constitutes good bone jigging?

Wealth of jigging styles in this thread! I like this one, Greenbone on a Teardrop Queen QCCC

I really like the way the bone feels on this GEC #48 Jack.

A Camillus made Remington

Some Ken Coats jigged bone.

And although Ken Erickson already showed it, here's the jack in my avatar

Boker Grand Canyon jigged bone.

Ah yes, good stuff. I have the same on a barlow, a pleasing combination of jig cuts and coloration.

although this black saddlehorn is more wheel ruttish-there must be a proper name...

Some fine jigging today. Keep it up guys. We need some corn cob in here.

I think two of the knives in Meako's picture feature Case's "pocketworn" (ie, faux) corncob jigging, the saddlehorn and the blue hookimuk, although I'm not sure. These two definitely do:

I like the jigging on this Schrade-Kious Reverse Congress. I've always been curious what the jigging pattern is.

Gary, I think that pattern is called, "Random Awesomeness" :D

I really like the jigging on the Swayback Jack I recently bought, allows for a good grip.

Also a fan of the pocket worn jigging on the Case peanut Knives.

But my favourite is the stag jigging on my Moki! Deep smooth grooves, feels great in the hand with excellent fit and finish.

I love jigged bone covers! No rhyme or reason to it, no pattern of preference for me, but I'm always impressed when both covers are crisp and cleanly cut (but I'd hazard to say a few blems here and there are par for the course and unavoidable when working with bone.) Anyhoo, here are a few of my favourite jigged bone pieces from my stable...

Sorry for the old pics

Hope all have a great night.

I was very fortunate recently to have picked up this beautiful Frank Buster Fight'n Rooster with some great jigged bone. Deep, rich color and jigging, it both feels and looks great.

I'm also glad this thread was resurrected. Thanks, Woodrow!

Here's what knocked my socks off! Just outstanding, thawk:thumbup::thumbup:

I'm a big fan of Schrade peachseed jigging

I appreciate hand "patterned" jigging like on these Shadleys, one with german eye jigged bone and another with red jigged bone.

I love the random peachseed jigging on this Erickson. This by far is the finest example of jigging I have ever seen.

P's example on that 25 is probably some of my favourite jigging that GEC outsourced to Culpepper. I had one of the 25 Brown Horsecuts and it was probably one of my favourite examples.
