  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

So...what did you miss by not going to the gathering?

Great pics! Looks like an awesome time. I'm gonna have to make it out there one of these times.

Sorry it took a bit to get back to this...crazy busy lately working on several projects simultaneously. Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed the photos, these were 30 or so of my favorites from a hundred or so I kept from the 500 or so I snapped. It was a blast even with what little time I got to be there. I wish I could have gotten there earlier and stayed longer. I couldn't make it Friday because it was my daughter's award ceremony.

Wow....Glad to see your photographic skills are still topnotch......Nice.......Was good to see you....Been too long.....

Hope to see you soon....

Ethan

Why thank you sir, glad to see you still think I take good photos :) It's always a pleasure to get to hang out with you and enjoy the great company and excellent food. I've already scheduled the fall gathering in as best I can without knowing the actual dates. Not sure when it will be, but already warning people I'll be taking a long weekend this fall. I hope to get back up to Half Moon Ridge, one of my favorite places in the world, soon but it will probably be after Blade, so really looking forward to seeing you again in June. I need to pick up a BK-16 and BK-17.

Thanks for the great pics! I want to see more of that sexy knife Ethan is using to cut the pork. :D Yeah, I need new kitchen knives and I'm really trying to hold off!

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed them! Sorry, by the time he was through using them I was more interested in what he had been cutting than what he was using...these are the best I got, and one is just a cropped version of the other.

Great pics! It was a pleasure meeting you...

Thanks man. That was the down side of having so little time to spend there. I wanted to document as much as I could so I spent more time taking photos than talking to people. It was great to get to meet the ones I did and finally put faces and voices with some of the names and avs.

Thanks for posting the pictures, mistwalker. Too bad it's so far.

Doc

No worries man, glad you liked them! And that's exactly how I feel about your little gatherings!

Thanks for sharing Mistwalker... I didn't know you were going.

Eli

Thanks Eli. Oh...my life is so hectic I very seldom say for sure that I'll be anywhere these days. I always want and plan to attend but never really know if I'll be able to break free long enough to go.

Sigh. Clearly, a great time for everyone. Glad it was so much fun.

Someday, I won't be so obsessed with my work ... and I will be able to take some time off for fun.

Or, maybe I'll even "retire" (that magic word).:)

I would love to learn some of Ethan's culinary skills direct from 'the man.' And, of course, who wouldn't like to take a class or two from Moose?:D

I know exactly what you mean, my work is requiring my obsession at the moment so that really limited my time there. Ethan is an excellent cook, eating there is always one of the high points...of a trip full of high points :)

Thanks for the extra pics! I understand fully, the meat takes priority. As soon as possible, those knives will be part of my kitchen and traveling kitchen set.

thanks for the pics -- it was great meeting you (along with several others)

Great pics Mist, it was great putting a face to go along with the name and to know that we are fairly close to each other.

It was awesome finally getting a chance to meet the guy whose threads I had been reading almost religiously for the last couple of years Mist. You definitely need to make it for the full time this fall.

No worries man. I did check them out and they feel great. I started thinking I could sew up some leather slip sheaths for them and take them camping and use them around my firepit/grilling area.

Nice, I'm in the first pic opening cans. Glad my hard work was documented :p

Thanks for the pics Cbear!

Looks like a lot of fun. Too bad I live so darn far away. Some day. Hopefully by that time, all this will still be going on.

Great pics C-bear. Is there any way that we can get copies of some of them? I tried to save them but they turned out a weird size?!

He has it set up where you have to click each photo to make it bigger. Then you have to click it again to enlarge it. Then, you can save the photo.
