So which Busse for bushcraft/survival

i prefer a warden for chopping, it's light and very easy to handle. beside, i like chopping so whats a lil added time in getting the job done.

Chopping scallions maybe??...or other assorted kitchen chores.

So for me I see something like a Badger as the best Busse for what I need when I go out.

I agree. The GW is the best chpper in the bunch. Will there be in E-handle GW's?

Has anyone considered the combination of a SHBM plus a Victorinox multi tool PLUS the very, very versitile Groove Master?

I think the BIBB is one of the best Busses for field craft. It has the length and great balance for good chopping abiltiy but is light and thin enough for more delicate work. Personally I think the BIBB is the best kept secret of the Busse line. It's a real sleeper and my favorite knife.

How about the third one down from the top, the drop point EDC prototype? It has a .178" thick blade and 3.375" long edge, bigger choil, it is longer than the Heavy Duty (or Active Duty), plus has a handle that you can get all four fingers on. It wouldn't be as good a chopper, but still an all around great knife. :D

Steel Heart for me (Either SH-E or SHSH if you can get one). I'm always surprised at how "small" it handles for the size, and it can do the big stuff too. Second choice would probably be a SFNO and then a Badger of some sort.

That would be a great one!

I don't get the choil thing on some small knives. Like say the AD, it it too small to use but it is big enough to kill a large percentage of the potential edge length

Having a tiny GW as an all around outdoor knife reminds me of my neighbor when I was growing up. "Old Man" Theoney would carry around a little case folder and would do EVERYTHING with that on the farm. He'd fix the tractor, mend the electric fence hookups, cut feed bags. I bet he could have built a barn with that thing.

That being said give me a BM. :D

Say Heah Boys and Girls, When I use to belong to KnifeTest, I saw Noss do a B M Destruction, Right then and there I said I want one. The only B M available at that time was the Anneversary Straight Handle Battle Mistress so I got the Limited Edition. I knew I needed to team it up with something 5"+, but no such luck. They only had tge Anneversary Mean Street so I got the LE. Then the Sarge 7 came out then the S.O.B. maybe visa versa But no 5"+. Then the Nuclear Meltdown Fussion Steel Heart and finally after a few years I won a chance to buy a INFI RatManDu, I thought I died and went to heaven. A error allowed me to get another one so now I have two INFIManDu's Then I got a chance again to get a rare one the ASH-1 but it was Cerakoted, I got the Green American Flag Cerakote a beauty, That was my only coated knife in my Busse Combat Stable. Then the Steel Heart Ergo came out but it was only available in a coated blade, I took a chance since I liked that size and the gamble paid off, the Badger Attack Ergo came out. I was real happy that atleast it was a match and the coated blades didn't bother me as much, Infact not at all. Then luck came down on me again, Today I have two B M's, The A.S.H.B.M. LE and I just got the Ergo Battle Mistress a few wwwks ago, maybe a month ago, not sure anymore because I'm still on a blue cloud, pink clouds are for girls heh heh heh, anyhow, One if my Fav's 2knife carry are my Rodent 7 and my Rodent 4 a great combo. The S H E and the B A E is very similar, But in the mean time I got the 1/4" RatWeiler that I had the edge thinned down, and seriously as a One Tool Option it's a excellent choice. But I had a Rodent Solution that matches almost perfectly. So I teamed the two tigether, If I need something alittle bigger than my SR101 RatManDu can match into that set. But if I just go out with a Trio to scout around or a afternoon delight, I take my Modde Rodent 6 which I had it thinned down to less than a 1/4" and I had the top gaurd taken off, They did a beautiful job at the Custom Shop. It does look like a beefy RatManDu on steriods. I can go with my 2Hawks Double Bit Hatchet and my Wicked Tough Saw to do a afternoon we and it's just right.

Just some ideas

Just too many to name them all. Almost all Busse models and series are above average for the outdoors. I'd even take a Flying Mojo with confidence.
