So who actually uses their Sebenza for EDC

I've been carrying my small Sebenza every day since I got it almost a year ago. Best EDC knife ever!

I can understand the reluctance to damage or loose a knife. It's like that with a new gun too; you don't want to scratch it or wear of the bluing, but after it gets broken in a little, the blemishes don't matter all that much.

I've dropped my Sebenza on concrete, asphalt, in the dirt. Cut tons of boxes, tape, paper, split kindling, apples, cheese, everything. Yeah it's got dings and scratches, but nothing I've done to it has hurt it. I clean it regularly and keep it sharp enough to shave with.

I accidentally washed a Benchmade 942 Osborne clipped in my pants in the washer AND dryer one time. It thoroughly trashed the anodized aluminum handle. Strangley enough, I'm not worried about my Sebenza getting hurt if that happens again. A few more scratches won't hurt it. Might even things out a little.

Besides all that, a plain sebenza isn't the most beautiful knife in the world. I know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you have to admit it's pretty plain. So, it makes no sense to me to have a plain Jane safe queen. If you want to see the real beauty of a Sebenza, go use it and use it hard!

A sebbie is one great user, I carry and use my large regular everyday. It came used and I've put a few more scratches on it since.

I've been carrying my large Sebby every day since I got it almost 3 year ago.
Great EDC!

Here is a pic of my 2 small users:

I carry it, use it, enjoy it and take care of it. Sebenza serves me well. Can't imagine better "working folder".

Break 'er in a use 'er. Use 'er HARD. Great knife. Sharpen it up and use it again. Scratch up that handle. Builds character. Don't be fearful of handing it off to a buddy who needs to cut something.

I think a small regular has been almost constant since 2000.. It has been used and abused since then. It has been white water rafting in my pockett and that was about the only time I worried about "loosing it" I wore a mission wallet out from constant use and need to replace it. I miss it. I have edc'd a couple of the limiteds fairly often too.

I frequently work these 2 into my EDC rotation. Large BG42 and small S30v. Both have ivory micarta onlays which I installed and enjoy. Sometimes I take them apart and clean them even when they hardly need it just because it is so nice to reassemble such a precision instrument.

Enjoy your Sebenzas!

Could we see a picture please , would be nice to see how the wood is holding up after 6 years and white water rafting

Small regular as EDC since 2000. My old seb probably got the most abuse the year it worked in a bookstore stockroom (cutting up 100+ cardboard boxes/day, falling onto the concrete floor, etc., etc.).

I don't hesitate to use my sebs to cut stuff, and they don't ever let me down.

it's pretty tough sometimes to get evidence of injury on these knives. the BB finish really hides scratches when you're trying to take a pic.

but i carry my (preowned) small sebenza every day.

I can remember when I first received my flat grind Sebenza three years ago I was a little worried about losing it too. But after two weeks of admiring it I removed the clip from it, put in the clip insert and keep it in a leather slip pouch (I'm on third pouch right now the first was from Chris Reeve the last two I made myself) Can't imagine it not being in my pocket, I work at a trucking company and more likely than not it's used for cutting cardboard. (It does get a chance to clean deer come hunting time) Only thing is if someone happens to need to borrow a knife, I stop what I'm doing and perform the cutting task for them! Also my Sebenza is always one of three places, nightstand while I'm sleeping, in my pocket, or in my hand... you don't lay a sebenza down, they can grow legs. Lately I've been thinking I need a Sunday goto meeting knife that is a little smaller, Unless Chris revives the Umfaan, or I get lucky and find one somewhere, I'll probably get one of the smaller William and Henry models and then my Sebenza will get a day of rest on Sunday, until then EDC!

I bought a small seb after buying 1 or two $100+ knives a month like benchmade e.t.c.

Haven't bought another knife in 4 YEARS

The small seb that I bought used has been refurbished, and is my EDC for over three years now.

Looking in to buying a new knife now however, been too long out of the hobby.

You mis-understood My beater do all sebbie was not a wood- its a plain jane that I have mistreated etc. I have used my woodies occasionally though and even took one hunting deer one year. The small regular has been heavily used on all sorts of stuff and left untreated in the leather for months on end occasionally - not anally wiped down. Here it is not even cleaned for the picture. I think I got it in 1999 maybe 2000

You mean here's other knives than the CRK products?;) I've been EDCing my Sebbies for as long as long as I can remember. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that CRK is the only company that includes dedicated left hand framelocks in their lineup. It means alot to me cause I can't work a knife with my right hand. :) :p

I have my small leather and Large wood sebbie in rotation with my ddr and police. I love havin the small in one pocket and the large or another in the other pockets. I havent really had the opportunity to beat on it. Roughest thing I have done was make fence posts with it for the hell of it. But its nice to see people usin there sebbies.
