Our favorite handguns thread got picked up and moved lock, stock and barrel to Gadgets & Gear.

That thread had the active participation of the Jefe around here, so who yanked it off to that hole?

Are we not allowed to have off topic threads in a manufacturer's subforum? Are other subforums jealous of the easy going fun we have and so expropriate it to other parts of the site to liven up their otherwise drab and boring lives? ;)

VIVA LA BIKINI!

I had the same question, but if you keep posting pics like that, who cares about that other thread?:D

after looking at the picture you posted, I kind of lost track of what you asked originally. Could you repeat please?

im glad it took a few seconds to load the picture, cause I was able to read your first two sentences. after the picture loaded, I couldn't read anything else.

That girl has a great character! I'll bet she wants world peace too :-) And work with kids.

Hell, I didn't move it. That pisses me off. Unless it was one of our moderators, which I doubt, then no one else has any business screwing with the threads here.

This is the problem when you give someone a Barney Fife internet badge. They think they know best what to do with a thread because it doesn't "fit" within a forum and just have to exercise their powers. If our forum needs censoring to fit within BFs rules, I'm sure Spark will let us know. Otherwise, all the internet cops that have nothing better to do in life needs to stay the hell out of our forum and business, or at least have the freakin' courtesy to ask us before moving something.

Got moved yesterday. Not really sure who did it, had to be a super I assume so Esav or Gus.

I wasn't really thrilled about it either but I'm not even a red mod so I'm not in any position to start waves.

As to the thread title, I sure as hell don't run the place, I'm barely a deputy. I'm one of the guys Jeff was talking about with the Barney Fife badge.

Wasn't talking about you, shotgunner. When I said Barney with a badge I'm talking about these pricks that think they can do what they please when it's not their business to get involved with the first place. Like Boats said, someone probably moved it to liven up their own little world. I have emailed Spark and a Super Moderator about this. I have also posted in the Bladeforums moderators section about this. I'm an easy going guy until someone starts sticking their damn nose where it doesn't belong.

As far as I'm concerned, this is Sparks internet site and domain. If he moved it, then so be it. But I think Spark trusts RC and us enough to know that we can police our own site. We don't need any super mod moving stuff around in our forum unless they notify us first.

Not sure who moved it. But will post in the mod area in hopes that it will stop.

I will move it back where it belongs in the first place.

Please keep in mind I do not make those decisions in the makers forums unless it is just obvious spam and have always respected 100% the right to let those forums be run the way the mods want them run.

It would be a little better to check with me before making accusations though. :D.

One of the irritating things that happens from time to time is wanting a review on a certain piece of equipment or whatever and you want the input of people who use stuff and people you know. That's why quite a few people have posted such requests in the Wilderness Forum from time to time. Sometimes they get whisked off to the Gadget/Gear Forum and sometimes they do not. I don't quite know what the deciding factor is on it, but it's just the way it is.

It's not that I, or others, don't know where that other sub-forum is, it's that we don't really want the review of people we don't converse with on a regular basis, etc. I think this has only happened to me once but when it does, the thread is in a casket as far as I'm concerned.

"Self-defense" threads that are specifically geared towards camping/hiking have been moved to Practical Tactical where teenagers can counsel grown men on the best way to use a hiking staff for defensive purposes. :D

That handgun thread had been in here for quite some time and had grown quite large.

Interestingly enough the very same thing happened in the Himalayan Imports Cantina subforum (which was created specifically for off topic discussion) -- gun topic got moved, no explanation why, it was looked into and moved back, still with no one knowing who moved it.

I'm wondering if we're getting an anti-gun bias here.

Oh, Spark and I have had our moments in the past, but if that is the case, that someone has an anti-gun bone to pick, which I doubt, I'm sure he will handle that rather quickly. He and I might disagree on some stuff, owning guns isn't one of them. :)

It would be a little better to check with me before making accusations though. :D.

Wasn't just an accusation, it was the absolute truth. Someone with powers to move the thread moved it. It wasn't our guys, so it was either a Super Mod or Spark.

Spark has been VERY generous to RAT Cutlery and we appreciate it. If Spark asked us to change the way we run our forum we would do it without question, but otherwise no one has any business screwing with anything in our forum. The RC Moderators, Tony and Shotgunner, have full and complete control of this forum. We (RAT Cutlery) back any and every decision they make, and they don't need any help in making those decisions.

Again I was indeed making accusations simply because it was the truth. Period. Appreciate you moving the thread back to where it belongs.

Best regards,

Jeff
