So, Who Runs This Place Anyways?

Oh, Spark and I have had our moments in the past, but if that is the case, that someone has an anti-gun bone to pick, which I doubt, I'm sure he will handle that rather quickly. He and I might disagree on some stuff, owning guns isn't one of them. :)

As I stated above, Spark has been very generous and lenient with RAT Cutlery. I would back this guy anywhere, anytime. He's just that good, IMO. So, if he moved the thread, which I doubt, then he had reason and I will support his decision. After all, it's his domain and his internet site. :D

Sorry for getting so upset about all of this and coming unwound but that's probably the biggest pet peeve I have....someone screwing with something that they have no business screwing with.

Got moved yesterday. Not really sure who did it, had to be a super I assume so Esav or Gus.

It would be nice to check with us first. I do not think I have ever made a move in a makers forum unless it was useless spam.

For now, I am moving the thread back where it belongs. (Here)

Again, don't know how moved it. We just want it back :D :D

I'm like a kid...it's mine, it's mine, it's all mine!!!!! Give me my thread back! :D :D

Glad it is back, I was really enjoying about people's choices.

But then again... moving it DID get boats to post that most excellent pic... see the silver lining to everything. :D

RAT Cutlery, to me, is about a social club more than it is about knives. We have our little group here that likes to discuss a lot of different things. We talk about a lot of survival issues, guns, political, etc. We all keep it nice and rarely have to lock a thread. This forum has turned into one of the most active manufacturer's forums on BFs. I think between RC and Busse we pretty much have most of the Manufacturer forum traffic. Not bragging about this but it's because Busse and our forum operates in a manner that allows people to discuss what's on their mind without having so many strict rules. We pretty much keep the Barneys and Safety Gods at bay around here. Again, this forum, to me, is a place that someone can come and ask a question about RC or just discuss an interest without the topic having to be about RAT Cutlery, and as long as I stay here it will be that way. If we are ever forced to stay on topic of RC Knives then I will quit altogether because talking about one knife, one brand or one subject is about the most boring thing anyone can do. I think anyone that lives and breaths knives only or one brand only, needs to get a better life or just go ahead and put a bullet in their head!

Amen to that Jeff. Just take a look at your "Pissed off" Thread and how thought provoking and intersting that has turned out. Gotta figure... people smart enough to love RC blades are going to be smart enough to want to have discussions about a lot of things.

And we will all get signs and just boycott. Call the ACLU. File a civil complaint with the courts, and tell grump's mom! Yeah, that's what we will do!

Well, not to be a smart-ass, but I think the people that frequent this forum are of a higher intellect than the average knife poster. Dude, RC is a about a philosophy on life, knives come second! :D

Ok, I will agree with that... all except the part where you called me "Dude"...

So R.A.T and the members of this forum have to follow B.F. rules, leaving such decisions within the discretion of blade forums mod’s. So why does R.A.T not have its "members forum" as part of it's own and regular website, why have the middle-man?

Because Baldeforums is the best run forum on the net, IMO. Spark constantly keeps the site upgraded and running smooth. Not to mention, the people that hang out here fit with what RC is about. So why go off on our own when the best is already right here?

I'm guessin' it requires a good deal of know-how to maintain a forum and keep it safe from hackers. I'm not knockin' the RAT crew but I doubt that they have the inclination or time to take on all that is required (behind the scenes) to actually host a forum. They are experts in their field and I'd rather they stay in their field and let the forum be hosted by someone who is more capable and better equipped to handle the job. :)

I don’t believe that there is any question as to whether or not this is a great website; this is a gear heads interactive reference book. I was just curious why if there was an issue about control over forum threads and such you would continue to give control to someone else when you have the availability of your own personal domain. I believe I am simplifying it down though and I am sure it is much more difficult than having a domain to run a good forum. So your statement is quite relevant, and it must be a trade off of sorts. It seems as though within respect to the disappearing thread situation that there may just be too many chiefs running around spreading and enforcing their own personal decree, without any form of an explanation of action. Not Cool! But I guess when you choose to play in someone else’s playground you play by their rules.

Crowdog, this place is just like anything else. As long as someone doesn't start abusing power and making command decisions just because they can, then there is nothing wrong with who controls it. This is the first time it happened, so no need in throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I agree completely!
I would not go to Bladeforum and expect them to teach me the methodology of effective wilderness suvival. So i guess the same can be expected of RAT and hosting a forum, becuase we all know how much of a jungle these there enterwebs can be."boats photos reminds me daily of such.":D

Not trying to argue with you, but actually the wilderness forum on BFs is one of the best there is, IMO. ;)
