So, why do you carry more than one pocket knife at a time?

I carry at least two because it helps with the rotation. If I only carried one I would never get a chance to carry all of them:D

i regularly carry 3

Gec 85
Wenger SI
green Alox classic on keyring

i work in a warehouse and having the SAK is great...never know what your going to need, i actually find myself using it alot, awl to start drill holes, bottle opener to pry staples etc etc. On occasion i've even had to open a can for lunch so the can opener has even come in handy! I also prefer loaning out the sak instead of the 85 to co-workers just in case something goes wrong.

i like the 85 because it has 2 blades! plus it gets sharper and stays sharper noticeably longer than the sak does. some days i using my knives ALOT and having back up blades is a good thing. But i am beginning to worry about my little gec. Still no blade play but the main clip blade is off center and it seems to me that its getting worse (although not rubbing the liner, and i MAY just be paranoid lol)

the classic is on my keys as a JUST IN CASE, if i ever leave the house and forget a knife (happened once ) i at least have something sharp. but other than this i probably dont need it if i am edc'ing my soldier *shrugs*

i always thought i was weird but it appears lots of folks carry 2-3 everyday :P

Because just carrying a sak is boring (incredibley practical though..) to a knife collector! ;)

I've always got a sak on me, followed by any pocket knife I have on rotation, and a tiny sak on my keys!

i only carry more than one knife if one of them is new.

you know, unless you count a folding pocketknife and a 2' machete as 'more than one knife'.

The main reason I carry a blade on me in the first place is self defense. My EDC is my Mikov leverlock and I also have a Bund Gravity knife that I like to carry sometimes but its a bit unweildy. Mikov is in my pocket 24/7.

Let's make sure at least one knife in the pockets is a traditional please!

Let's just say I have a problem, I'm sick, it's not unheard of for me to have between 4-7 knives in my pockets, usually a combo of small to medium slip joins and 2-3 more modern lockers/tactical, small, medium and large.

As to the why side from the fact that I love knives and love to educate and show them off, different knives for different situations and jobs.

I carry a Case peanut in my rfp because it was a Fathers Day gift, a Case 54 trapper or barlow in lfp and large oho in the back of my waist band for two legged skunks that I may encounter. There is a small locking 059L on my keys and I keep any knife that's being worked on in my lunch bag, right now a Schrade USA 12OT and a Remington lockback. I don't know its an obsession. My grandmother used to ask why a boy would need to carry 4 or 5 knives. My uncle said once a good man always carries a pocket.
God Bless

At work in khakis, just one and it is usually 3" or smaller. I stick with a Peanut or a small pen knife as it isn't really a job that I need much more. After work in jeans it is three, one clipped to my pocket, a small slipjoint in my watch/coin pocket, and a medium sized slipjoint in my other pocket. Small, medium, large.

For Scouting trips, it could be up to five, depending on what we are doing. That may include a small fixed blade as well as a SAK/multitool in additional to the other three. Yeah, it's overkill, but what the hey :D Be prepared!

I often carry a Vic classic in my coin pocket as a second knife because I like to have the scissors and screw driver. Sometimes a pair of scissors is more useful than a knife blade.

 Right pants pocket: Schrade lockback, an extension of my hand. On my leftside belt in a nylon sheath: Victorinox Spartan as my official MacGyver knife. Right rear pocket: Buck lockback folder with a pocket clip, as a substitute fora fixed blade sheath knife.
Left side belt sheath: small, inexpensive multitool with a needlenose plier, as a tool for electric wires and other household tasks when real tools are out of reach.
3 pocketknives, 4 if the multitool counts (it does have a small blade for rough work)
