So, you are stuck on a deserted island...

Becker bk2 and my three sisters forge beast folder (only because I'm stubborn and want to be buried with my beast, it would see little work). It is still quite a little tank though.

I still probably have the worst choices in this thread haha.

Well, I'm going to choose from the knives I have. My biggest fixed blade is a Muella Military, although its not full tang, so I'll probably be dead inside of a fortnight. My folder, I'll take my Spyderco Endura, Spyderedge, naturally. Light, comfy, cuts like a mother. Of course if I was allowed to swap it for my Leatherman Charge....

A big reliable blade, like a Condor or Svord machete, strong enough to chop some and light enough to spare my energy. Folder : Victorinox SAK with as many blades as possible. The host of blades and tools may look ridiculous but they are all tough and usable. I joked on them, I was gifted one 30 years ago, I kept using it all the time, today it's bashed and ugly but everything works. What is there not to love ?

I would not take a folder

I mixed up and read the wrong comment on the first page that said something about the discussion being an arctic climate. If it's a jungle environment you're absolutely right, but if we were discussing a more northern climate then that same machete is much less useful and a heavier, shorter blade would serve much better. A longer and thinner khukuri might be a better compromise for either climate. What do you think?

In Canada I would replace the machete with a good Axe, but I would have to learn how to use an axe for more than just chopping. However I think my lack of knowledge with an axe would make a machette a better choice for me, and I would choose my Svord Kiwi Machette as its shorter and a bit thicker than your average machette giving it a little bit of an edge for a northern climate imo.

Machetes work much better in the temperate zones than most folks give them credit for! Pick the right pattern and you'll do just fine even in winter. :)

Is there a cantina and lemons or limes on the island? Can I get a nice room? Just how deserted is this alleged island ?
