Looks like you tried to catch a falling chainsaw
The downside to having knife sharpening as a hobby. I think I actually bobbled the knife a couple times before it hit the floor. On the plus side, the knife was undamaged.Looks like you tried to catch a falling chainsaw
I’ve been able to nudge the knife sideways with my boot every time I’ve tried, to minimize inertia/damage. Hopefully my luck doesn’t run out, I wouldn’t do it if I weren’t wearing boots.Let it fall.....
I know that sounds hard to do, but you have a micro second to think about it, and you NEVER catch a falling knife.
So the very First thing to do is let it fall to the ground while moving out of the way as safe as possible.
So please tell us what knife was worth trying to catch? LolThe downside to having knife sharpening as a hobby. I think I actually bobbled the knife a couple times before it hit the floor. On the plus side, the knife was undamaged.
It was an SBD Mini Tempest. For some reason it hasn’t seen a lot of pocket time since that day. lolSo please tell us what knife was worth trying to catch? Lol

“Too damaged, not worth it”The correct answer is to just leave it for some peasant to find, then go buy a new knife.
Granted, it's easier to do if you only carry peasant knives to begin with.
Learned that the hard way, my right foot caught an esee 4 because I cared more about the tip than my right foot, think I chose wiselyLet it fall.....

I’ve also dropped an ESEE 4 and let it bounce unharmed.Learned that the hard way, my right foot caught an esee 4 because I cared more about the tip than my right foot, think I chose wisely![]()
You have dropped your knife on a hard surface while walking, what's the first thing you do?
I’d recommend bending it with your thumbs against the clip side. Then hitting it with your purse.I dropped a Spyderco knife on a not-so-hard surface (wooden stairs), this is what happened. Does Spyderco make its knives from shit?
