We have some good ones in SoCal. Here's some pics from Plaza Cutlery.

Eye candy?

It's in the "South Coast Plaza Mall" in Costa Mesa. For people that aren't familiar with this mall...it's all uber high end stores. Rolex, IWC...all that designer stuff. Stupid expensive.

$1300 Duane Dwyer custom knives in the last pic. That's Mick Striders partner in crime. (The other owner of strider)

Plaza Cutlery is an awesome B&M store . . . arguably one of the very best in the country. Another favorite of mine is Nordic Knives in Solvang. Their selection of custom knives is second to none. Just to give you an idea, at last count they had 5 Loveless knives in stock.

There's also Grommet's Cutlery in Moreno Valley and Recon 1 in Tarzana.

Oh ya Recon 1 has nice Shiros. Don't forget Ross Cutlery in LA and Advanced Cutlery. Knife Gallery in Orange too. Id say we're pretty spoiled on the brick & mortar stores in SoCal

Coincidentally, I had Jury Duty in downtown L.A. for a three excruciating days this week and I visited Ross Cutlery on Broadway. Lots of kitchen knives and shaving apparatus. Some Spyderco and Benchmade but not much variety in anything of great quality. I was all done in about 10 minutes.

I think Advance Cutlery is closed.

Advance Cutlery is definitely open. They're located in the Westfield Mall next to the Santa Anita Race Track in Arcadia. The store is right out front of JC Penney on the second floor. They have the usual assortment of Benchmades and Spydercos and Kizers, all at MSRP of course. They also have a pretty good selection of Sebenzas and a few customs. But they're not even in the same neighborhood as Plaza when it comes to selection.

Recon 1 looks like a good shop. I might have to swing out there and see what they've got.

Advance Cutlery moved from Cerritos to Arcadia or they just closed the Cerritos store?

I believe Advanced moved locations in the same mall and changed their name.

I peruse that shop once in a while as they are 5 minutes from me.

Martin B. Retting in Culver City has a goodly variety of Benchmade and Spyderco knives in the cases, some antique/vintage swords and bayonets, as well as the occasional oddball or custom knife that has come in from an estate. It's worth a look if you are in the area. Oh, and they sell guns too.

There is another one in Westminster mall, I can't remember the name but it's not as big as the one in South Coast Plaza

Ya Ross cutlery always has random stuff. The owner is the father of the owner of Protech. So he always has the latest and greatest Protech stuff. A lot of cops shop there I've noticed. It's located in such a place that you would want a cop in the store at all times lol

I believe they just closed the Cerritos store.

They've been in Arcadia for a long time. Their first location was on the 1st floor under the escalator in the center of the Mall. Then when the mall expanded, they ended up outside Macy's on the 2nd Floor. Their last move was to their present location on the 2nd Floor just outside JC Penney.

PS: Their name is ADVANCE Cutlery, not Advanced Cutlery. They also don't have a storefront in the Westminster Mall. Their only current storefront is in Arcadia.
