What kind of SOG knife it is? Like is it a S1 or what. I searched on That link about sog knife's. I need to get every little thing and reply with that. Blade type and everything. Is this a Vietnam-era S.O.G. issue blade, or the SOG Specialty S1 made by Hattori?
EDIT: What kind of information are you looking for?
No it is not a S1. We have found some information. My buddy which is a computer person. We have found out that it is a very early made Vietnam style Recon Bowie. Handle has a white leather strip in the middle of the handle. Blued blade. No flint pouch on the sheath. Very early made. On the top of handle it is stamped 099. We still don't know what that means. Hopefully it will mean it's the 99th made. It is brass pommel. Maybe you can help me please. I am stuck again. What kind of SOG knife it is? Like is it a S1 or what. Yes brass pommel and tang.
Only thing is mine was part of a first run in 2000 or whenever they started making them again. The number I was told that meant they numbered the first 100. That is why one person told me it couldn't be a recon Bowie. Because it wasn't sterile. On what? Where? Where is the link to the photos?
Anyway glad your question is solved. Not sure if they ever had a numbered series.
But anyhow, this is my Recon Bowie, circa 2015.

Ok. But nothing has been posted here.Ken I don't own a computer and anyone iask for help they can't do it either. My 11year old grandson can. But he sent 6 pictures but he screen shot them. One guy said he opened it and posted it for me.
Not it.Thanks.
No.Not it.Thanks.
No so late saying no because my wife is very sick.
KenReally need to see photos of your knife to address your request for information.
Verbal descriptions won't cut it. You say that there is a number 099 on the top of the handle, which is the pommel.
All actually used MACV-CISO Ben Baker SOG knives from Vietnam were sterile, meaning completely unmarked.
So I suspect you have something else, but we need to see the knife.
You can upload your photos to a free image hostjmg site, such as imgur.and use the 5th icon from the right on top of the posting box to put in the url to the photo. If that's too difficult, just type the url to your photo in your post.
Ken you identified my knife. But before the Recon Bowie but what was the letters. Bsr or what. And have you found any about the number on the top of the pomel.099.I don't know because I never tried that.
