One picture of a broken thumb stud proves little other than it broke. Is it possible the user abused the knife or pushed it beyond its intended purpose?

Did you read the whole thread? OP claims that the broken knife is definitely a fake, but won’t say why.

Yes, I did and referenced that. So what? That’s his opinion. Right or wrong, that’s not indicative of the entire run of those knives. Is it?

I even inquired about the backstory and asked the question if the knife was pushed beyond its reasonable use.

In either case specifically stated pros and cons would be more useful than this nonsense

The OP has a history of threads where he makes outlandish claims and disagrees with anyone not concurring with his opinion. There is context in which you are missing.

No, not really. That point is stated and reiterated ad nauseum in this thread….

My point is be that as it may, why not post countering opinion with real data in either pictures or anecdotal forms beyond the same pic that seems to be circulated every time the SOG Seal XR is brought up? To me that picture doesn’t prove jack other than the thumb stud broke. It answers few questions, whereas another or a series of issues like it would

That’s my point. Otherwise this thread is just a pointless sh!t-show
 
Never been a fan of SOG honestly. It’s like they are trying to hard to be tactical or something idk. For the prices they ask there us a ton of other options I’d go for. Glad your happy with it though

First off the seal xr has NO THUMBSTUDS. secondly, what are you talking about?! Many of us in this thread have the seal xr and love em. You did NOT read this thread.

Actually I did read through this thread. All of it. Ok so there is no thumb stud and I mischaracterized the piece of the knife that broke off. Sorry- I guess.

I’m not bashing the SOG XR, or any other brand. In fact I’ve considered buying one. My points are clearly stated so you might consider re reading my posts or taking a remedial reading and comprehension course.

Nothing on this thread constitutes what anyone would characterize as complex or sophisticated prose dude

Just to be clear : all of Lasador’s threads are “pointless shit shows”. That’s why people are responding to him the way that they are. We’ve all been through it more than once with him. Anyway , welcome to yet another (but not the last) shit show.

Well, ok I get it. So our friend Lasador is easily excitable by the latest and greatest in cool knives? He also appears to be a bit contrary in his opinion. Got that too

I suppose my perspective is, instead of piling on why not just show Lasador where or how he might be mistaken ?

I’m all for good natured fun, even an occasional upbraiding - so to speak when the situation merits and the individual needs it. This one just seems to have lost its useful appeal. Especially to those that might want more info on this particular knife

From the moment I saw the SOG SEAL XR in the SHOT show video I was interested. I have always liked a stout knife and have had many of them, from tons of different manufacturers. This one is big and not for the faint of heart but those who like overbuilt knives will love this knife. Blade...
